Today I went and bought some craft paper and different size knitting needles. I'm knitting an air force airplane since my dh retired from there. Tonight we had hamburgers, left over scalloped potatoes and veggies. I also cleaned out our refridgerator. When I started cleaning it, my dh came and helped me. It takes about a good hour or more without his help. Tomorrow I have to go and get a blood test. If I'm not hurting too much I'll go food shopping. We don't need too much anyway, I'll have to see if I can find some good prices while I"m there. Dh told me he gave his 2 week notice for work. I'm not sure if he's really going to like this retirment. He probablly will start getting bored with in a month or two. I know he wants to take me to Pa. to see my family but the price of gas is really high. Prices of everything seems to be going up, even our water bill. The other day we had 1/4 tank left and it cost us 45.00. Dh has his own truck he takes too work and we'll save money there but he won't be receiving any pay since he's retiring. We need to start spending our money were wisely. It's getting late. Night Night everybody. Jeanne Rose

Hi sure hope everyone had a good day!!! Here is a dish cloth that I finished today. I made 5 so far in different colors. Think I want to try one with a picture.
Heres a picture of my rose too. I was transplating my tomatoes and notices how pretty the roses are. As soon as it gets hot outside they really don't look this good. I'll have to take more pictures tomorrow. I need to go shopping tomorrow. Last night I didn't sleep good, so i just stayed home all day. I also worked on my scrapbooking. My first project. When it's completed i'll post it.
For lunch we had left overs and dinner I made ham with scalloped potatoes with left over sweet potatoes and cooked cabbage. Enjoy the Pics!! Have a good night. Jeanne Busy Day

I woke up early and had to be at a meeting at 9:30. I'm the secretary so it's a must that i need to be there. I went and picked up Agnes. Since this was our last meeting until September, we all went out to eat afterwards. I asked Agnes if she would like to shop with me at A.C. Moore. I went to buy some acrylic paint for my Dh. I was also looking at Scrapbook paper but didnt buy any. Wish I did. lol When I was home, looked on the internt for scrapbooking ideas. I found one I really liked, a scrapbook with quilt blocks by cutting paper. I made a quilt for our daughter and it took me about 4 months until it was done. All I need to do here is buy decorated paper and cut and paste. I'll go shopping for that tomorrow and make a page and share with everyone. I showed my dh and he like it a lot too. A.C. Moore gives active and retired military, a 10% discount off of your total purchase. My receipt today, has a 50% discount good for May 14th to 17th. Think I will go tomorrow and buy the paper and get a 60% discount. Not bad. Huh? My sister in law, Moon had to have surgery on her one eye today. She wasn't able to see very good because of her eye lid covered half of her eye. She's doing pretty good tonight but swollen a lot. I posted before that we usually eat our every Tuesday but not tonight. I went ahead and called my neighbor Pat and she joined us at Logan's. I came home and watered all my plants, vegetable and flowers from rain that I save in 5 gallon buckets. I have 7 of them. Sure helps, since we need rain. They have on tv right now that we have a 20% tomorrow and a big chance Thursday and Frieday, possible heavy too. We'll see. Humidity and dew point are 59 and 52 now. Finally going up. :) Hope everyone has a good and safe evening. Jeanne Knitting

Everyone When I lived with my foster parents, my mom taugh me how to knit and all i can remember making slippers. I knitted a pair for our daughter before she was born. I also was learned how to crochet and made her a blanket. Right now i'm making wash cloths/dish rags. It's really simple. Start out with 4 stiches and cast on one stitch each row till you have 45 rows. Then you delete a stich until you have 4 stiches left. Then you bind off and your done. I'll post a picture when I'm finished. Hope you all have a great night. Until tomorrow, Night Night all. Jeanne

Dh took me out to eat since it just us two. We went to TGIF Restaurant. They were giving all mom's a carnation and a big piece chocolate cake. Mmmmmm was that good!!! I called my foster Mom in Pa and she told me it was pretty chilly up there. She went out to eat with Sallianne on Friday and David took her out today. Linda went back to work. She's been ill for awhile. I tried to call my sister but nobody was home. I'll try and call her tomorrow evening. Looks like they were getting a lot of rain. Florida had none!!!!!!!!!! And we need it too. Our humidity is only 24, the dew point 33, and the temperature is 71. Feels more like arizona here. LOL Thats where my uncle use to live and he would tell me he loved it more there then Pa. I was with Pat today and saw a cute wooden stool she had in her car. I told my dh he needs to make me one when he retires. I came home and worked outside a little bit. Our magnolia tree is loosing a lot of it's leaves right now. Dh added feed and weed to our lawn. Night Night all. Happy Mother's Day

Everybody I hope everyone had a great day. :) I finished my newletter for our neighborhood. The truck that hit our wall and demolished it, his insurance company sent us $8,000.00 to rebuild it, replace the plants, bushes, 2 big eagles on each side and flowers. The price of a new wall alone is $8,000.00. I think I stated earlier in my blog it was built in 1975 for $1,000.00. The wall was about 6 feet high and was a lot wider then the height. Today a lot of the bricks were thrown into a bin. Agnes and I drove around the neighborhood to pick the 'May" Yard of the Month. The house we picked, the owner was at the hospital having a baby girl. Her sister was taking care of her dogs for her. We have noticed a lot of home are doing more landscaping. DH took my report and x-rays of my back to my doctor. Now I have to wait 3 weeks to see him. Tonight we had dinner with my brother and his wife Moon, and played aggravation again. Dh told me that my brother said his wife is starting to be more aggressive. He's not sure why. This started to happen about 4 weeks ago, ever since they went to Thailand. Their daughter and her hubby and child went with them for 10 days. Moon told me tonight that Diane's husband did a lot of drinking and she thinks Diane is too. Thats not good for themselves and especially their daughter who is 11 years old. She also feels that her children only come to visit when she's cooking a meal for them. They don't seem to help her any and only have conversations with my brother on the phone. She also said if anything would happen to her, she doesn't want her children to have anything. At least thats how she feels about this situation now. I think Moon is starting to - speak her mind - instead of letting everything build up inside her. I need to pray more often for her and her family. Until tomorrow, night night all. Jeanne

I had the test done. It wasn't as bad as both the doctor's said it would have been. No pain went down my sciatic nerve. He gave me the report and it shows two of them were normal out of three. the abnormal one, the pain went into the right side of my stomach. He has no idea why that would have happened. This dr. is the pain dr., not the Neurosurgeon. Tomorrow I take everything to neuro dr. and have an appt. set up. Segments Studied: segment L34 contrast injected 2 cc's 0 pain normal vas: 0 L45 contrast injected 4 cc's dissimilar degener vas: 5 L5/51 injected 2 cc's 0 pain normal. vas 0 bottom of page shows Negative L32 & L5/51 Indetermined L45 L45 0 back pain, & adoninal pain. With no positive levels. With my opinion, it looks like the pain is not what the neuro dr. thought it would be. I'll keep you updated on my next visit with him. Thanks for the prayers. Jeanne

Tonight the garden club all met at Red Lobster for our meal. It took 45 minutes to get our orders to the chefs. Then It took almost the same time to get our meal. We met there at appx. 6:30 and I just now at home and the time is 9:35. The manger came one time and told us she will deduct 50% off of our bill. Then she came later and told everyone they will have a free meal. Twelve of us were there out of twenty-two members. Two of the girls decorated our table really nice. Everyone received a candle, homemade choc. candy, a flower to pin on their shirt/sweater and cute little frogs. Everyone was given a number and went to a table with more gifts. I was the second one and received a thermostat I can place outside. We still had a good time, just wish the service was a lot better. Today I was hurting a lot. I didn't get everything done that I have planned. I"ll try and get some done tonight. So far I have the bathroom done, I took a brush on our tile floor in the kitchen and have half of that done. I use soft scrub with bleach. That really works. I Vacuumed the carpet and dusted. I did two loads of wash. Changed the sheets on our beds. Worked on my fish aquarium and the dishes are done. :) I think I did a lot. It didn't seem like that much until I started typing it all in here. Well tomorrow is my day for that test on my back. I have to be there at 12:30. I can't eat for 6 hours before the procedure. I'm not sure how long this will take but I hope it will be fast. Please pray for me. Thanks everyone. Night night...Jeanne. Rainbows appear after mighty storms, when things look their very worst. Just when the skies are the darkest grey, Look for the rainbow first. The Rainbow is the signs of Gods Promise That He will guide us through any storm, That He will see us thru our troubles No matter what they form When you feel batter by life's storms And you are filled with doubt and dismay, Just remember Gods rainbow is comiing... It's only a prayer away. Sit Beside Me

I met a dear friend on line. Her name is Eileen. We knew each other for about 8 years now. I just received an email from her, saying this: Dear Friends, We are so sorry to communicate this sad message through e-mail. Please forgive us, but we are overwhelmed with the duties involved in preparing for Greg's funeral on Saturday. I have been looking all night for a poem to send her. I found this one and would like to share it:
This will not be easy Lord,

Weather outside was nice and warm and even a breeze. Hopefully we'll get some rain this weekend. Usually by the time it's supposed to be here, we're lucky if we get any. Yesterday and today I worked outside. Checking all my vegetables, flowers and plants. Then I came inside and cleaned our home. I also wrapped some coins. I always check the dates to see if I can find any olds ones. I've been trying to find some 1975 coins but seems like they're hard to find, especially quarters. I did find some pennies. That’s the year my daughter was born. I'm so proud of myself. Dh and I bought a Pressure cooker and I made Ham and Green Beans tonight. It turned out pretty good. It came with some recipes but I need to find some more. Does anyone have any they would like to share with us?I saw my neurosurgeon about my back and he wants me to have a Myelogram next Tuesday. Kind of afraid to have it done but I've had a lot of pain and hopefully he can help me. Dh starts his vacation from work the same day so he'll be with me after this procedure. It's getting late so night night all. Take care. Jeanne

and
Everyone!!!
Today feels like Friday to dh and me. He will be off the next two days. I'm not sure what all we will be doing. Probably mowing the lawn. We're thinking about putting new carpet in our home too. We lived her now for 16 years, the same carpet since we bought our home. I'm now working on a newsletter for our neighborhood. This is the last one until September. We started Yard of the Month in May. Agnes and I picked out the home that won. I add that to the paper. We have to update about out wall, since someone hit it with their truck. Also I add, May Gardening Tips. We thanks everyone for their donations and delivering the newsletter. Next Monday we all get together and go out to eat. At our last meeting we elected new officers. Tomorrow I go to my other club, Agnes, my neighbor will show everyone how to make an angel. I'll show everyone here tomorrow. Tonight we ate leftovers. We had hamburgers and chicken. I made a salad with chicken and dh made sandwiches. Night night all and sweet dreams. Hope you all have a good night and a better tomorrow. Take care. Jeanne

Yesterday we had ham with scalloped potatoes, broccoli, carrots and greenbeans. I try to eat a lot of vegetables. I did a little big of quilting last night. I started on a table runnner. Dh and I went food shopping. I decided to double up on a lot since its hard for me to shop. I thought the bill would have been higher. I was surprised. Our gas here is now 3.45 a gallon. You can check to see where your cheaptest gas station is located in your area: GasBuddy.com - Find Low Gas Prices in the USA and Canada
