Friday, April 6, 2007 - Due Date Officially 2 days away.... ( ;

     You all are so sweet to keep checking up on me!

     I have a midwife appointment today with my previous mw, R, so I am looking forward to that. I haven't seen her in almost 2 yrs.  This is just going to be a quick measure and check Baby, so I expect it will go real well.

     Still having contractions... I drove to town today and felt like I had a boney babe sitting on my lap, if that tells you where the Baby is!! low and moving!!  Not sleeping well. Some of it is not getting to bed, but it is mostly a comfort level. I wake up with contractions and then have to really stretch a lot. Even with sitting or laying awake, I find I really have to stretch my legs.

     I am doing well taking my supplements and drinking my Pregnancy Tea, but I found I am needing to stretch the legs and feet a lot.  One good thing is my weight. I have fluxuated within a few pounds every so often, but I really have not gained since January. Baby is growing and heartbeat is always fine, but I am so glad my weight is doing well. I also feel like I am in such great shape, since I have been so active! I had lost 30# when I found I was pregnant, so I was not looking forward to the weight gain, and I hoped I wouldn't gain it unnecessarily. Yay!

    I am having a hard time climbing into the big 15-passenger, go figure! I think it would be better if I wasn't having contractions every 15m or so, off and on!

     Have to use the potty often as it is.... Just waiting. I am truly thankful that I am not feeling impatient or "ready to be done with this".  I can only give credit to the Lord, because only He could give me such a sweet, looking-forward-to-the-birth attitude with 2 days left 'til my due date!

     Everyone in the household has been very helpful. The older girls have been so attentive.  It's a good thing for them, since they will be married and having their own little ones in the not-too-far future. They are noticing things and being concerned and that is a learning and loving process. Matt and Amanda went to the store on Wed., because, of course, we live in IN, and it was SNOWING!  YUCK. I really didn't want to get out with Caleb and Isaac (though he went with Daddy). Did I mention YUCK! ? And, we are expected to have COLD temps for the next several days.

    Speaking of the *freezing weather* - Poor goats. We have been checking on them, trying to get their stalls warmer everyday! We had to separate them, b/c Chloe doesn't like the other kids.  Heidi has pretty much accepted the new buckling, so she lets him eat with the others. They all sleep in the kid box together. Chloe sleeps in the next stall over with 2 of her kids, and they snuggle together, so I hope they will all be warm enough for the next few days.

    My Mom will be leaving soon to come and visit. She came when Isaac was due and stayed for a couple of weeks and still missed his birth by a few days, so she is hoping we will have the baby soon.  I told her I am not in charge of that part. lol.  Anyway, I hope she is here for the birth or soon after. She hasn't been to a birth since Hannah was born 7yrs ago. She hasn't been to a home birth.

     Of course, then there's Mom and Dad Dixon, who haven't been here for over 8yrs. They haven't met Isaac or Caleb, since`we haven't gotten to go to NM (all of us) since their births. We keep trying to get them up here - at least Mom.

     Amanda and I did go into town today, and I got to buy her and Jocelyn a couple of much-needed jean skirts. They were $40 skirts, marked down to !! 6.99. Yup, *That is my kinda' bargain!!* Amanda was happy, because she had to try on 3 different sizes to get the one that fit! She started with the size she got last time and worked her way down from there. She was thrilled! Me too!

     I guess all of that organic food *is really making a difference*!!

     Well, that is my sporadic update for now....

Blessings!

-Jacque

I came across your blog today and thought it was very interesting. I too homeschool (this is our 3rd year) and absolutely love it. We have 2 children (8 and 5) and we're contemplating a third. I'm really considering a midwife and a birthing center instead of a hospital this time. How have your experiences been? I'd like to get someone else's take on it who's actually had a midwife. Thank you!

About Me

Walking Therein is a blog dedicated to journaling our family times, encouraging Biblical living, presenting what we have learned in 15 years of home schooling, and occasionally sidetracking on news-related stories or politics. We are looking for Yeshua, our Messiah to return soon, and are devoted to the One True God, which you will see reflected on each page. I am a forgiven & restored daughter of the One True God, a happy stay-at-home wife, and home schooling Momma to eight beautiful children. Our home school is Living Learning Moments, meaning we learn as life happens. We live on a 2 1/2 acres little farm in IN, and we love our homestead, raise goats and chickens, and keep our home. We also enjoy managing several websites and writing articles for the glory of God as we train up our children for him.
