Today has been a good one......

Posted in Family Life

It is winter time out, just not as winter as it is for most. It was just a cold, wet day. SO what did I do to get through it? .............I went to the mall !!!!  Isn't that what you are suppose to do on a day like this?.......

I am just kidding. I really did go to the mall, but not because it was a cold, wet day. It was because it was the only day that my oldest dd could go. Now that she is working and going to college, we do not have the time for things like this. So, against my better judgement, I went to the mall on a Saturday, right after Christmas, when they are all having sales !!!!  Boy, was it crowded !!!! I was thinking, " Was it this bad right before Christmas?"........ If it had not been that I wanted to get by "Bath & Body" for their big sale, I would have not gone to the mall.

After that we went to Target for a couple of exchanges. It was not that bad there and I actually got to shop. My girls went off on their own and I just took my time looking at all of the "close-out" items from the holidays. I picked up a few things, but before I got to the check out, I decided that I really didn't need those things and I put them up. I did however, spend my Christmas money that my parents gave me. I used some of it over at "Bath & Body", and then spent the rest at Target.

I got a new 10"  deep "red" KitchenAid non-stick skillet. It is ceramic nonstick system with a porcelain enamel exterior. I have been needing a new one for making eggs in when I am only making a few at a time.

Next I got a "Rice Cooker". I have been thinking about this item for awhile. I thought if I had any chance of getting one, I should do it now. So I got this one:

I can't wait to use it !!!! I will post about it after I do. If any of you have any recipes that would work well with this, please let me know.

Well, that is about it for my shopping spree. It sure is fun when you have "fun" money and you don't have to worry if you should be spending it !!!!

I went to the mall on Saturday also. It was terrible! I do not have a rice cooker. Let us know how you like it.
Happy New Year!

You are brave to go to the mall! I am going to wait until mid-January until I try. I can not stand crowds!

I love the Kitchenaid red! My teapot and my toaster are Kitchenaid red. It certainly perks the room.

Have a lovely New Year's Eve!
