I went to the library today........
I checked out alot of neat books. The list goes like this:
GooseBerry Patch Blue Plate Specials Cookbook
Stillmeadow Calendar; A Countrywoman's Journal by Gladys Taber
The Best of Mennonite Fellowship Meals
The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live it. The Complete Back to basics Guide by John Seymour
And once again The Encyclopedia of Country Living by Carla Emery. I have checked this out a few times before. I'm just waiting till I can buy a copy for myself.
I will let you know how the list "pans out". I hope to learn a few things from some of them and enjoy the others.
What is everybody else out there reading?
Much love and blessings,
Pat Mills

Oh how I wish I had time to do all that reading! The books sound wonderful!!! I don't know where the days go for me. It seems I don't get much accomplished a lot of the time. Thank you for the compliments on my new kitchen...can't wait to see the progress on yours!!! Fun fun!! xo Jeani

2006-Jan-3 - Reading list

Too cool that your library has such a great selection, ours is rather limited. Today we finished reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe out loud because my mom wants to take the kids to see the movie and I won't let them watch it unless they have read the book. Family rule.
My personal reading list for 2006 (wish me luck) includes finishing the Old Testament and reading through the New Testament again, The Excellent Wife, Becoming a Woman of Excellence, Pilgrim's Progress, several Bible study guides, and re-reading The Encyclopedia of Country Living, Educating the Whole Hearted Child, and several others if I can find and afford them. We'll see.
Usually it seems like I spend so much time reading to the boys that there isn't much reading time left for me. Reading the Bible is all I really manage to get in most days.

I love the library. We go all the time, and check out SO many books! I brought the Foxfire books home for my husband some time ago, and we had so much fun reading and discussing them.
We have the Encyclopedia of Country Living, and we have read it and reread it, and now we reference it. LOL
I am not currently reading any books...I read daily devotions and I'm following a program to read the bible in a year...I do both of those online.
I look forward to hearing about your books on your list...my 'to-read' list is always growing.
Hugs,
Lisa
