It is almost Chirstmas !!! Where is your Heart ?
So, how are things going at your house? Are you running around like crazy, wondering if you are getting everything done in time? ARe you checking off your gift list, making sure you have not left anyone out? Are you finding yourself being a little short with your children because you cann't think straight?
If you can answer "YES" to any of these questions then where is your heart this holiday season? I too, am having to step back and take a look at what is really important and why we even have a Christmas holiday. We as christians, know what the "Reason for the Season" is. We are the ones that go around saying things like "Reason for the Season" to others, like we are all in the right spirit of things. But really if we all take time to examin ourselves, we will see that we too also get caught up in the "worldly" ways of the holiday and totally forget why we even have a CHirstmas day.
I find myself not even thinking about God and the gift He gave us with His Son. Christ was born, so that He could die, so that we could live!!!! I mean, how many of us would even consider a deal like that. How many of us moms would say, oh sure, I'll have a son, give him away to the world, let them kill him, and of yea, you all can have the "free gift" out of all of this!!
It did not really hit me, that I had fallen into the "trap" of Holiday cheer (the worldly way) until Sunday evening when my pastor told us that he would be there Chirstmas Eve night for regular Sunday evening services for any of us that were home and coming. I thought, of course, where else should we be on Chirstmas Eve, on a Sunday evening, but in church. I mean, if you don't have time for church at Christrmas, "Where is Your Heart!!!!"
I am slowing things way down around here at our home starting today. We took care of any shopping that just had to be done by yesterday and it is now time for family time, Godly focus and what we can do for others. Praying will be a big part on my list. It also is one more reason to enter into a time of "Thanksgiving". Thankful for all God has done for me and the gift He gave me that very day that CHrist was born, so that He could die, so that I could live!!
What a Chirstmas, in my heart !!

A very enjoyable, insiteful blog. We all need this reminder I'm sure. Isn't it just so easy to get caught up in worldly ways....It kind of sneaks up on ya before you realize it. Merry CHRISTmas!

I have to keep reminding myself that Monday is Christmas.
We have come to the point where I am seriously looking into the Feasts as our celebrations, and totally breaking away from "christmas". Once you get to the roots of the 'holiday' it is nothing more than halloween wrapped up in santa paper! Pagan in roots, 'christian' in flavor, sorta.
We quit all the rushing around, crazy out of control spending, insane decorating, and lack of focus a few years ago.
It is true........that The Truth sets you free!!
Someone posted a few days ago a website that talks about when Jesus was really born.......I wish I would have copied it down!!
