Plans so far for the week-end

Posted in Family Life

I love to fellowship with my family and friends!!!  There is nothing better to do!! The best thing about it is, you do not have to have alot of money, a big house or fancy "anything". All you need is a heart full of love and the love to share it !!!

We love to have people over to our home or go to others' home to just visit and catch up. We ladies always just bring a dish or a treat along with us to help out with the meal or snacking. I have fond memories of a very close family to us from our church and my family would get together just about every Friday evening for supper while they were working on their house. Us ladies would be in the kitchen cooking while the men and children worked. We would plan together what we had in our own kitchen to cook and put it together to make a meal. It was so much fun and the family love and fellowship will stay with us and our children for years.

Well, so far for this week-end, my family will be busy!!  This Friday night is the Children"s Christmas Party at church. My husband and I do this every year so that the parents can have a night out. ANother lady from our church will be there to take care of the babies ( the youth group helps with that). Jeff and I will have all of the other children ages from 4 - 12. THere will be around 25 children in all.

We start with a Pizza supper(provided by the church), Christmas cupcakes, and then craft time. They love to make things for gifts. We then plan on starting a movie around 8:00 pm and they all snuggle down with pillows and blankets to watch. There will be popcorn for munching on also. The parents will start picking up the children around 9:30 but no later then 10:00 pm. It makes for a long night but I want the parents to have time to do something on their night out.

Saturday, I will be spending the day helping my close friend get things ready for their family Christmas that evening. My family is always apart of this , for we are very close with the whole family. The big dinner will start around 5:30 or 6:00 pm. There will be so much good food and fellowship and then the children, young and old, will play that gift game, where you pick a new gift or take the one someone else has. It is alot of fun they enjoy the challenge so much.

The weekend will wrap up with church on Sunday. We have fellowship lunch every Sunday after our morning services. This week is Bar-B- Q. I have been asked to make the baked beans.

Well, that is it for now. What are your plans for the weekend? I would love to know !!
