Okay, Today is D-Day for my kitchen!!!!!

Posted in Inside My Home

D-Day stand for demolition Day!!!!!!  We are moving cabinets out and will be going to order new counter tops also.  We are moving a wall back 3 ft. to make the kitchen even bigger then it is right now. Another wall we are opening it up to the front room to make a large gathering/dinning room for when we are busy in the kitchen and visiting at the same time.  These two rooms seem to be where we spend most of our time so why not open them up to each other.  Right now the kitchen is 12 ft x 16 ft right now.  Soon it will be 12 ft x 19 ft.and opened up into the front room, which is 16 ft x 18 ft and will stay that size.

I am abit nervous about picking out colors and counter tops.  This is a one-shot deal and I want it to be nice.  This is all being done on a budget!!  We are not rich by any means and have been planning this and purchasing things for awhile.  We bought my new sink and faucet set back in the summer last year and the ceramic tile back then also.  We are just now able to purchase the counter tops and subflooring .  It has been along wait to get started but I am happy to wait till the time was right to get started.

I will keep you updated on how it it going!!

Much love and blessings

Ooh Pat, we're doing the same thing here. I've been waiting 8 years to do something with my kitchen and we're finally at the stage where it's about to happen. I have my cupboards picked out but have no idea what to do with the bench tops. Cupboards are white so I'm free to choose anything for the bench tops. Eeek! That's TOO much choice for me. LOL! Whatever I choose will be there forever. Well, almost. (grin) I do hope you post some pictures. I plan to do the same as things happen.
My kitchen is little. About 9'x9.5'

2006-Jan-16 - We just did this!

Posted by TheLandIsCalling

Last year we ripped out our whole kitchen, everything! We also did it on a budget, and did the whole thing ourselves. It took longer, but it cost less and we loved our kitchen even more b/c we did it ourselves. Of course we moved a little under 2 mts after that, UGH.
If you need any guidance please let me know, I am an old pro now. I also have some knowledge on cabinets and good counter tops, depending on what you want.
Have fun! Even though it is a mess the end result is always great.
Blessings,
Andrea
