Prayer journal - 07:27, Friday, May 15, 2009

I have finally begun a prayer journal. I have been wanting to do this for such a long time. I picked up a lovely little notebook at the dollar store, where I can write down what and who I am praying for. I want to record prayers said and answers too.

The word of God instructs us to pray for one another.

" Pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The effectual ferverent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."  James 5:16

Since coming to the Lord , I have grown to love praying so very much. It's a precious time with my Lord.  I so love praying not only for my family and what's on my heart, but I love to pray for others.  So, dear readers if you have a special prayer request please feel free to email me or leave a comment with your prayer request and I will add it to my prayer journal and most definately be praying daily!

Please let me know,

gloria

Prayers please - storm approaching - 09:51, Sunday, April 26, 2009

Hi, all. Just posting to ask for prayers for our family and the many other people who are under tornado warning right now in Missouri. We're expecting a severe storm tonight, so please keep us in prayer.

  Thanks so much!

 gloria

Monday, April 27th :  Thanks so much for your prayers! We didn't get hit by a torando but were slammed with so much rain. We are at flood level. Our creek can't hold more water. We are praying that the rains will cease for the week until the ground has saturated the water we received. Thanks again for the prayers lifted up!

Prayer Request - 05:54, Tuesday, March 31, 2009

  Friends,

I have a prayer request.  We are hoping to sell off some of our land to a farmer friend of ours. If all goes as plans , the proceeds will pay off a debt we incurred while we have been remodeling our home.

I am asking for prayers in behalf of this situation. The bank that holds our mortgage needs to approve of the 20 acres of land being split off from the farm and we have to go thru an appraisal process.

Please pray that God's will be done.  We really do need to pay off this debt, and it looks like the Lord is providing a way for us to do so.

Please pray for the bankers involved and for our farmer friend and for my husband and I to have the wisdom and discernment in this situation.

Thank you so much!  I will be sure to post what the outcome is.

Gloria

Lovely weather, but feeling under the weather... - 01:04, Monday, March 16, 2009

   Good morning!

The weather is glorious outside -- in the 60's today.... spring is definately in the "air".

Meanwhile I am struggling with a UTI, and trying to really work with my home remedies... lots of Vitamin C and liquid acidophillus and tons of water.

I am not feeling great, and struggling to kick this thing naturally.

I am a little discouraged that I am not having much success in getting this taken care of naturally.   If you have a moment, please pray that my body will respond to the natural remedies. Thanks!

Hope you all enjoy a lovely day,

gloria

Calling on prayer warriors! - 04:01, Thursday, March 12, 2009

 Dear Friends,

I am calling on all prayer warriors on behalf of my friend Sally's son, Bryson. This precious little one was adopted from China last year and has been undergoing corrective surgery for his club feet.

He had surgery a few days back and is in a lot of pain.

Please, pray for precious Bryson. Pray for healing of his feet, for a reduction in swelling and also for pain reduction.

Also, please pray for my friend sally, who is also a mama to 7 other kids, some of whom are still at home.

Thank you!!

          ____________________________

Lord, we lift up precious  bryson before the throne of grace. We thank you for placing Bryson in a loving home, and for remembering him, even when he was an orphan in China. God you have your eye on the sparrow and we know you care more about Bryson than you do the birds, and we just pray dear Lord that you place your healing hands upon his feet and legs and entire body. That you would reduce the pain, the swelling and that you would give the doctors wisdom too. Please bless my friend Sally, that she would have the physical , mental and spiritual strength she needs right now. Lord we know you are the great physician and you healed the blind, the lame and even raised the dead to life! Lord we lift up bryson to you, please Lord may you be glorified thru this child, may bryson grow to be a witness to the world of what you have done in him.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen

Please pray for Pastor's Family who was fatally shot today in Illinois - 10:53, Sunday, March 8, 2009

 Dear Readers,

Some of you may have read about the Pastor in Maryville, Illinois who was shot today during the Sunday service. He was fatally wounded after deflecting the gunshot with his bible.

There was another member of the congregration who tried to stop the gunman and was also fatally wounded, as well as 2 other who were stabbed.

Please pray for the Pastor's family, who must be terribly shocked and sad. Also please pray for the gunman who is in critical condition tonight after stabbing himself, as well as another church member who was hurt.

Please pray for all involved in this terrible tragedy.

eye infection - 10:20, Saturday, February 21, 2009

Friends,

The last few days I am dealing with some kind of eye infection....would you all please pray? This morning it is awful -- my eyes look like I am an ape!!! They are swollen and look so odd -- I am going to head into the doctor and see what it is.  Please pray thst all will be well and that my eyes won't swell shut.... I really need their use!

Thanks!

gloria

ps. after writing this post I found some antibiotic eye cream that we got a few months  back for an eye infection my daughter had -- so I am going to use that!! Hopefully that will clear up what ever is going on in my eyes at this time! Thanks so much for your prayers! A mom has to have functioning eyes! Plus, I prayed and asked our wonderful & Great Physician to heal my eyes...... almost immediately upon praying the itching stopped and the one eye that was almost shut closed began to open up! Oh Thank you Jesus! He is so good to me!

Update from Sunday:  Thanks to you all who prayed for my eye to heal! It is doing  much better!  The Lord is so faithful to hear our cries and heal us of our infirmities! Thank you Lord!  I also used some antibiotic eye cream that I had here at home and that has cleared things up a bit too.  My eyes should be good as gold here in a few days.  Thanks again for your prayers & love! :)

Prayers for Israel - 04:27, Wednesday, January 7, 2009

" Pray for peace in Jerusalem: May those who love her be safe. May there be peace within her walls and safety within her strong towers."

                   ~ Psalm 122: 6 & 7 NCV ~

Like many of you my heart goes out to Israel at this time.  The media has launched an anti-Israel campaign.  They are not telling the truth about what is really going on there.  My prayers are that peace will be in Jerusalem. The bible tells us to pray for Israel and for her peace. I pray the United States may always be counted as one of her allies.  Israel still has a destiny to fulfill and God has His eyes on His people.  His promises will be fulfilled in due time.

Praying,

~ gloria ~

Needing prayers to " Be Still"...... - 12:55, Thursday, December 4, 2008

" Be still and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."      ~ Psalm 46:10 ~

                    ______________________________________

I awoke this beautiful morning with this passage of scripture on my heart.......

One of the most challenging things for me to do is to "be still".....it actually requires this mama of 10 to really have to "work at" being still......it takes a purposed effort for me to "be still and know that God is at work"..... you see I am a "doer" by nature and I love to do do do......that can be a good thing at times..... and not a good things at other times....

God is showing me that right now, for today I need to be "still".......

Would you please pray for me today my friends? I come to you for your prayers of faith that I will be "still and know that GOD , is in charge and that He WILL be exalted before those who do not know Him".......

This is something God has laid in my heart today.... to be still and oh if you only knew how hard that can be for me at times!

Thank you dear friends for taking a moment to pray for me today.

He is faithful,

~ gloria ~

International Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians - 04:17, Thursday, October 30, 2008

" Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, an those who are mistreated as if  you yourselves were mistreated."  ~ Hebrews 13:3   NIV

On November 9th, Christians all over the world will be joining in a day of prayer for the persecuted Christians in the Church today.  Please consider including your family or local church in this day of prayer. To learn more about the IDOP, go to www.persecutedchurch.org or www.opendoorusa.org

This year the focus will be on children who are being persecuted for Jesus' sake.

Here are some compelling facts:

 - The world's largest persecutor of Christians is North Korea

- In Saudi Arabia, practicing Christianity can result in death by beheading or stoning

- There is only one Christian church left in the Gaza strip, and its membership is down to less than 100

- Algeria is about a quarter of the size of Texas and only 3% are Christians

- Open preaching in Sudan is punishable by beatings or imprisonment

- There are 69 languages in Iran, and only 3 of them have a completed bible. Iran is the 3rd worst persecutor of Christians in the world.

- Christian girls are kidnapped and forced to Islam?

- College students run the risk of expulsion or worse if they profess Christ?

- Pastors who give their lives for the faith leave behind families?

Did you know that each day Christians are dying for Jesus? What can we do about this?   One thing we can all do is P R A Y!!!!

You can go to www.opendoorsusa.org to receive your International Day of Prayer kit.

Churches and individuals or small groups can order kits which include :

- 6 min video presentation on the persecuted

- power point presentation

-bulletin inserts stating statistics on the persecuted church

- 2' x 5' color banner

- DVD with church resources

PLEASE consider marking your calendars on Sunday , November 9th for a day of prayer for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering and persecuted!

Continuing to pray for our nation - 08:42, Tuesday, October 28, 2008

The election is in 1 week.

I continue to pray for our nation -- are you? I hope you are!  I am not only praying for God to forgive us of our national sins - the sin of infantacide ( abortion) the sin of same gender marriage, and all the other awful sins our nation commits, but I am praying that believers here in America would gather together in their churches this week  and in their homes and pray collectively for our nation at this critical time.

Not only do we face local, state and national elections --  there are many local issues that are on the ballots across our nation. California has Prop 8, an issue that will determine whether same gender marriage will be legally allowed in the state of CA.  We need to be in prayer for California this week and this issue.

I am praying that once again we would be a nation that " in God we trust".  ( our nation's motto and printed on our currency).

This coming month is a time to remember those souls who came here so long ago seeking religious freedom to worship God. Seeking a "closer walk with Him".  The pilgrims came here because they desired to worship God, read His word and be able to raise their children in the fear of the Lord.  I stand  in awe of their courage, and determination.

I am praying that we will once again turn to the Lord.

" Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."  ~ Ps. 33:12

Please join my in prayer this week ~~ may our hearts be drawn out crying to our Lord ....to forgive us, to heal us and to be our Lord....

~ gloria ~
