Prayers for Israel - 04:27, Wednesday, January 7, 2009

" Pray for peace in Jerusalem: May those who love her be safe. May there be peace within her walls and safety within her strong towers."

                   ~ Psalm 122: 6 & 7 NCV ~

Like many of you my heart goes out to Israel at this time.  The media has launched an anti-Israel campaign.  They are not telling the truth about what is really going on there.  My prayers are that peace will be in Jerusalem. The bible tells us to pray for Israel and for her peace. I pray the United States may always be counted as one of her allies.  Israel still has a destiny to fulfill and God has His eyes on His people.  His promises will be fulfilled in due time.

Praying,

~ gloria ~

AMEN!

That is something that I want my children to know. No matter what, Israel is God's chosen.

Blessings,

There is no peace without victory, and I pray for that for Israel. I pray that they will have the strength and wisdom to just take out the enemy once and for all. I sometimes wonder if the current situation is not a fallout from the disobeyed command in Exodus to destroy the nations living there at the time. Had the early Israelites followed that command, would there be a problem today? It seems to me to be a lesson to follow the Commands of the Lord, no matter how hard and distressing it may be.

Oh Gloria...what a great post and so true...we need to pray, pray and pray for the nation of Israel....God's hand of restraint is over the people...but for how long? Only He knows and everything that happens and will continue to happen will be because he needs to fulfill the scriptures.

I loved your post on homeschooling. I loved homeschooling my girls. I homeschooled for seven years and they were the best years of our lives. But sadly when I thought homeschooling would be once again with adopting from Africa, I soon realized it was not to be (for now). While I tried it, my African children were so incredibly lonely(being raised in an orphanage with 500 students) that they could not even physically learn. Their hearts were so broken, and their spirits down, that I knew they would need friends. I guess if we had more children, it would have been easier. But having older children and some already through school, and Daniel in public school, it was too difficult for them. I am thankful that God has given me peace about putting them in school. Ethan has gone from being the age of almost seven (when we adopted him) and not even knowing his alphabet, to reading at almost a grade five level with his peers and that is since being in our family from 2006 to now. So I know they are where they should be.

There are days when I wish they were home, but right now, God's plan is different and God has given me peace by putting them in a school filled with teachers who truly care. I am however not so sure when Anika hits high school...but will cross that bridge when I get to it...and God will carry me over it as well!!!

You are so truly blessed!!!
Connie

P.S. Your picture has finallycome through for me...love the "sheep". Actually, the entire clan looks awesome:-)

Thank you! - 09:37, Wednesday, January 7, 2009

I can't even bare to watch the news anymore it's been so bad.

I've been thinking about writing a post myself. I've just been praying on the words to say. I think you put it so eloquently and I love the scripture you used.

My heart aches for them. Even as they ceased fire today to allow the people to get food and find shelter, Hamas chose to retaliate back to Israel casing them to start firing again.

I continue to pray for Gods protection upon His people.
