Country Woman's Journal

About Me

Hello & welcome to my blog! My name is gloria. I live in an old farmhouse on a beautiful hill overlooking God's green earth... along with my husband of 17 yrs and our 10 children. I enjoy the simple pleasures of country living. I love the Lord and desire to live a life pleasing to Him. This blog is a "journal" of sorts where I will be sharing my thoughts and ramblings, and occasional mishaps too. :) I hope you enjoy reading. God bless!

Cute photo - 11:08, Sunday, January 4, 2009

I thought I would share this photo of my children -- taken a few weeks back at our little church's Christmas pageant. My camera broke down that night and my pastor's wife took this snapshot. :)  I loved it........ this was our children's first ever Church Christmas pageant.  Our previous Church never held Christmas pageants or Christmas' Eve services, so you can imagine how very excited the kids to be involved with the nativity pageant this year!  The text was taken right from the bible word for word, so the kids had a bit of memorizing to do - but they did a great job and enjoyed themselves.  ( they are holding treat bags in the photo -- the "wise man" brought "gifts" for the children)

The kids had the following parts:

Hannah: Mary

Jacob: A Wise Man

Rachel: A sheperd

Samuel: Joseph

Paul: Zachariah

Peter: An angel

Rebekah: The angel Gabriel

Sarah: A Sheperd

John & Naomi :  "sheep"

I am so thankful for my little Church that focused on the true meaning of Christmas this year and really chose godly activities to bring Jesus front and center to the Holiday season.  It is so refreshing.

I sure wish we did a Christmas Pageant. I keep hoping that one day we will have enough children in our family to do one! For now though, daddy reads it from the Gospels, and we act out our little nativity scene, moving our little Mary and shepherds and wise men around the floor.
I love the little sheep - that is soooo cute.

Very cute - 08:05, Monday, January 5, 2009

I work with a large group of kids in choir and they have to memories a ton of scripture for our programs. It's amazing what kids can do! They don't forget the words as easily as us adults, either.

Lovely pic!

Hi Gloria....just stopping by to see how everyone is doing...cannot comment on the photo as it is not coming through for me...but Christmas pageants are definately something I so enjoyed watching when my children were involved...and even now that they are older, just having them act it out at home is precious.

Hopefully the photo and my blog will rectify itself.

Blessings for your week.

What a beautiful picture. Angels each and every one of them, such a beautiful forever family.I love to follow your blog. When my children were growing up, we always had a nativity program in our little branch. On Christmas eve we then had our own family program. My second daughter headed up the live nativity program in her ward, and I mentioned this on my blog, as the shepards were walking toward the manger, the sheep fainted, ( the leash was to tight) and the little angel forgot her lines and shouted the sheep is dead. The sheep revived quickly and with a little prompting the angel carried on. My love to you and yours in 2009.

Nativity Pageant - 09:18, Tuesday, January 6, 2009

We were sad this year as our church didn't perform a nativity pageant. Anne was looking foward to being Mary again. Your children are so precious and they look so good in their costumes.
Many Blessings,
Michelle
