Country Woman's Journal

About Me

Hello & welcome to my blog! My name is gloria. I live in an old farmhouse on a beautiful hill overlooking God's green earth... along with my husband of 17 yrs and our 10 children. I enjoy the simple pleasures of country living. I love the Lord and desire to live a life pleasing to Him. This blog is a "journal" of sorts where I will be sharing my thoughts and ramblings, and occasional mishaps too. :) I hope you enjoy reading. God bless!

YOu have my sympathy!~ - 05:50, Monday, December 22, 2008

Sorry, sorry!!! what a week for you all!

I LOVE ~ LOVE your picture at the top of your blog. Obviously you have adopted. I have a friend wanting to adopt from Ethiopia and she was in tears yesterday because it looks so impossible when you look at the costs. Are you aware of any help for families like this ( they have 5 wonderful kids of their own) who have a ton of love to spare? She is so discouraged. I tried to tell her miracles can still happen. Anyway, if you know of any tips I would appreciate it.

glad to find your blog again - 09:46, Monday, December 22, 2008

Dear Gloria,
I do not have a blog but I found yours one day and loved it. There was something about what you wrote that touched me. I felt like you really were searching for truth but you also sounded like my dearest friend who happened to be lds. In your writings I could see that you had such a love for Christ that I did not see in my friend. Then one day I could not find your blog and was truly sad. Well I just happened to stumble on your blog again and read all your archives. I have prayed for you several times that you would realize how much Jesus loves you and I see that you have found that joy. I gives me hope that my dearest friend will find the same joy we have in Jesus. It is so hard at times but I now have a new resolve in my heart. God tells me to show her by example and to love her nonstop. What a blessing to have found your blog again! I would love to corespond with you through email if you would like. Thank you, Lisa w. in SC teachhomeschoolmom@yahoo.com

Sounds like you're in the same boat with me!!
Hmmmmmm
We can each take an ore and start rowing..........
Or
Go to sleep and let Jesus calm the storm.
I sure could use the sleep :-)

I keep telling myself it's going to get worse before it gets better, so that when it DOES get worse, it won't be so bad HA HA!!
You are not alone! Praying for you right now.

Just Rest in His Arms..... - 07:18, Tuesday, December 23, 2008

Dearest,

I have spent several Christmas seasons just plum worn out myself. Just try to imagine leaning against Jesus himself. His arms are around you, there are no words...just love. He is the best comfort and is always there, just waiting for us to call Him. In just the imagining, I feel so much more rested and in a place of peace.

I hope you have the most blessed Christmas, I will keep you in my prayers.

Yours in spirit,
Shan
