About Me

Hello & welcome to my blog! My name is gloria. I live in an old farmhouse on a beautiful hill overlooking God's green earth... along with my husband of 17 yrs and our 10 children. I enjoy the simple pleasures of country living. I love the Lord and desire to live a life pleasing to Him. Elsie Dinsmore Fans - 01:38, Thursday, December 18, 2008

Shsh........ I picked up this lovely book for my daughter Hannah for her Christmas book this year.........

Hannah is a big fan of the famed Elsie Dinsmore books...... they are wonderful Christian stories written by Christian author, Martha Finley.  We also enjoy the other Life of faith books..... these are wonderful books for girls. You can learn more about them at www.elsiedinsmore.com

We picked up this book used for less than $2 thru amazon.com ...... it's in perfect condition.

She will be so excited!

My Dd (15) LOVES the Elsie Dinmore series. She got the s3eries last year and went through them in a week :- )

I am having trouble now finding any other good series. I did find a series on Amazon yesterday called the Panhandle Series. It's about a family that moves to Texas and starts to build their Homestead. It's from Bethlehem books, so I know that its a good moral (Christian) book.

I don't think she has the one you mentioned. I will have to find out.

Thanks! I am always on the lookout for good Christian books for DD.

Blessings,

That looks like a beautiful book! I only just recently heard about the Elsie Dinsmore series from the 17 year old who came to look after my children when I was so sick during the early days of my pregnancy who had grown up with these books and loves them. I'm looking forward to my little girl discovering them when she is a little older. What age is a good age to start reading them, do you think?

Hi! - 09:06, Thursday, December 18, 2008

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I feel badly because I update it so rarely. Mostly it's "on hold" for when we finally move over there! Yippee! And . . . you lived on the west side? Where? We're in Enumclaw right now...until we can move over to Tonasket.

That looks like a lovely book. I've read some of the Elsie series (the old ones). And I've seen those beautiful dolls, too. My DD would go nuts to have those dolls for her little ones.

I enjoyed reading the other comments here. I wanted to visit Amanda, but I guess I can't, since I have to be friends first, and how someone becomes a friend if they can't get to their profile is a mystery to me. LOL

I read that she is always on the lookout for good books for her DD. I'd love to give her my website address, since I write historical fiction for tweens and teens...horse books. The Old Schoolhouse carries them and has reviewed them. Very nice reviews, too. And they are books you can trust. Growing in Grace on-line mag has also reviewed them very positively.

It is hard to find good, solid books with a biblical world view and yet not sacrifice a good read and high adventure. If you are Amanda's friend, feel free to send her my web addy: www.susankmarlow.com

My publisher is Kregel, a very conservative, evangelical publisher . . . like Moody.

Geesh...this sounds like an ad. Sorry! But if folks are looking, it seems like it would be a nice thing to point them to good books.
