It's Time Again to Harp on You!
It is time, again, for my regular "harping".

I simply cannot stress enough the importance of creating an organized home-plan for you as a godly woman.

When you take the time to sit down create an organized life, chaos will no longer reign.

Order is a reflection of God. And as Christians, we want to always reflect the Lord. This is just one small way to do so... that will impact every area of your life!

It was time, again, for another "revamping" of my own schedule.

Below, I will share our new routine(s) with you. It is my desire that this will "spark" an interest and determination in creating one for yourself.

Always consider how your day naturally flows so you do not plan unrealistically. And remember to think about those things you especially need changed.

If you already have a schedule, but it's become "obsolete", I urge you to sit down and re-write it. Your days will run much more smoothly, you'll find time in your day for the things that haven't been getting to, and stress will melt away!

Two things that had become a burden for me were correcting homework in a timely manner and keeping properly abreast on the children's completed chores.

I decided to assign the oldest three (17, 15 and 12 yrs) with this job in a rotating fashion.

As "Chore Monitor", the child in charge for the day is assigned a clipboard with the various jobs, detailed, and a check-sheet. If a job is completed properly, a check mark can be noted in the space.

This is the "front page" of the Monitor's clipboard:

CHORE MONITOR

These are the items you must check as Chore Monitor. Remember! Your job is important, and I am relying on you to help. Do not worry about others’ reactions to your marking and be honest when reviewing your own work. I will notice, and your allowance WILL be docked $3 for dishonesty.

BEDROOMS

Beds made

Toys up off of floor

Floor neat

Closet neat

Clothes put away & hung

No garbage on floor or lying about

KITCHEN

Dishes washed, dried and put away (it’s okay to have some in drainer – but NOT on towels)

Counters wiped clean (including under/around appliances)

Stovetop wiped and burners not gross

Microwave tray, door, “ceiling” and inner sides clean

No food out

Garbage changed as needed

Floor swept & messes wiped clean on floor

DINING ROOM

Table cleared and wiped clean & attractive

Floor swept and spills wiped clean

Chairs neat and not sticky/dirty

Mantle cleared off

Black “entertainment” center neat

Brown “entertainment” center neat

MIDDLE ROOM, USTAIRS HALL

Swept/vacuumed as needed

Nothing on floor that shouldn’t be

Coats hung, everything neat

BATHROOMS

Toilet wiped clean – no gunk under seats, around seats, around base of toilet, and inside toilet

Cabinets neat

Nothing stacked on diaper changer

Garbage emptied as needed

Swept as needed

Sink clear and wiped as needed

I have a folder in my binder to store all of the day's completed homework. The child in charge of correcting knows to retrieve these sheets from this double-sided folder.

One side holds things awaiting correction. The other corrected items, ready to be returned to the child.

Have you decided it is time to organize your daily life?

Gather your children about you to ensure that they do not get into trouble. Present them with an irresistibly fun activity or series of amusements. This will allow you peace in which to focus on creating a plan for your days.

You'll never regret the time spent doing so!

Father this plan is a act in Faith for all the planning I see Carrie has done so I lovingly speak into it that she and children work the plan and they succeed for that is your desire~ that we suceed and be prosperous. May they have the order and discipline in their life as your will wills it. In Jesus' Holy Name!!
