Something that we all enjoy here, for breakfast, is granola. Until a sister from church brought by some of hers to share, I'd forgotten how much the children missed my making it! So... I promised my seven year old I would. And, yesterday, with her help ... I did! Yummmm! Store-bought granola is expensive, and it's not healthy. When you make it yourself, you can keep the costs down, choose what is put into your mixture, and triple the amount had! Face it! When you purchase granola cereal, the box is teeny! There isn't much there. I guarantee you'll love this as much as us. It's a breakfast that is super-quick to serve and it "sticks to the ribs"!
GRANOLA CEREAL
Ingredients: 10 cups rolled oats
Directions: Stir all ingredients together well. Put into a large roaster and "toast" on low oven heat (about 250 degrees F.) for approximately 2 hours (or until oats are a light brown and/or coconut is toasted), stirring every half hour. As the mixture cools, it will become crunchy. Keep in an airtight container. Serve in yogurt, with milk, or with corn flakes! Enjoy! |
