Shared in The Christian Walk

Many people profess to be Christians, today. Are you one of them? Does your tongue deny the profession? Psalm 140:3 reads: "They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent's; the poison of vipers is on their lips. Selah" Do you wound others with your words? Romans 3:13: "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." Are you deceptive? Revelation 21:8 "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Are you a liar? "Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain." Deuteronomy 5:11 Do you say God's name without thought? - Even replacing His holy Name with more benign words such as "golly", or "goodness" is simply not right. We must think about the expressions we use. Even the dictionary will tell you the truth: Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source gosh

Matthew 5:37 "But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." Don't speak all sorts of foolishness. Keep your words to a minimum. Speak thoughtfully! Colossians 4:6 "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." Are you patient with others when they disagree with you? Can they see the outworking of the Spirit in the way you discuss things with them? Colossians 3:8 " But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth." Do you use profanity? Ever? Do you say things you later regret, when angry? PUT OFF these habits! People, if you're a Christian, act like one. Reflect Christ. Walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh. You are a to be a walking testimony. Holy! Only with God's help can you find freedom from the bondage of worldliness of speech. "In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:7 | ||||
