Shared in Cleaning and Organizing

We've finally reached the end of our week! How have you done? Surely there are areas in which you wish you'd been more diligent. Maybe you are conscious of the fact that you failed in this or that task. Maybe you think there are other things that should have been completed that simply weren't. Again, as long as you honestly tried, rest in the fact that jobs wait. Pass the less pressing ones onto the next day. You'll get to them, eventually! How about those of you who simply lost interest in keeping up with your duties? Maybe you just didn't have the energy this or that day, and felt like doing something else? This boils down to laziness, pure and simple. Proverbs 13:4 "The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing; but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat." Proverbs 6:6 "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways and be wise." Proverbs 31:17-18 "She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms... her candle goeth not out by night." Drop the excuses, and delve in! Your home could be so much more lovely and comfortable... for both your family and visitors! There are situations which warrant being gentle on yourself. If you are a brand new mother, you are healing. Ease expectations of yourself. You cannot do everything you once did. Give yourself time. Things will find a new normal! You also must make allowances for yourself if you're ill, or someone in your family is. Always prioritize. People first! If you find that, each day this past week, you've failed to do a certain task, ask yourself if it's really important. If not, drop it for now. But, if it's something necessary, note it in your written schedule! And don't let the day progress until that job is done! Now, since we've reached the week's end, we have the last of our rooms that we've grouped together, to tend, today. Do as you have been this past week. Get out that trash bag and empty basket, if necessary! And don't fail to go over the rooms that you have tidied, already! A quick once-over in the morning and evening is usually adequate! Delegate when possible, and get your children involved in the work! Smile and sing as you go about your business. Your family is watching you, and you're speaking volumes. Your mood is catchy! Tonight, when you go to bed, you can feel good about how far you've come! Doesn't it feel better to be able to relax in whatever room of your house you enter? Is your family surprised and extra comfortable? There is something about having successfully tidied a home that is absolutely rewarding! Tomorrow is the most important day in your cleaning routine. So, we'll conclude this series with a bang! |
