This weather is just crazy and I am tired of it
This weekend we had wonderful weather, nice and in 60's and 70's. Last night we had a thunderstorm which left my yard a swamp again and now, it is sleeting and snowing! ACK!!! I am ready for summer!!!
Things have been busy around here but I can't tell you exactly why or what I have been doing. I do feel like I need to step back and see why things are a little hectic lately. I know a few things, I need to stay home more and I need to get my menu plan in place and get my pantry stocked back up. So, I am working on my menu today. I posted about how I do mine on A Woman's Walk With God and you can read that post if you want more information about it.
I have tried to declutter a bit lately and made just a little progress in my room. I hope to make more this week. I have also come to the conclusion that sometimes it isn't good to put things off for a day or two. My dh has been off the last three days and I decided I would do my laundry and cleaning today, since he would be going back to work. Well, I ended up having three extra little ones this morning (two were only for an hour or so) but the baby I will have all day. That really throws a kink in my cleaning plans, but that is okay, I will get the must do stuff done and the rest will wait until I can get to it. My friend needed me to watch her baby 3 days this week due to her babysitter's son having the flu. I am glad I can help out and my chores will still be there when I get to them. I do have some must do todays, I will share them with you and try to post later or tomorrow and let you know what I got done.
make laundry soap
do laundry
do dishes
make menu plan
sweep floor
make bread
Okay, that is what I really want to accomplish today. I guess I should get off here and get busy then huh?!
Sorry for all my friends here in blogland, I haven't been keeping up with your posts lately. I have missed you but sometimes real life gets in the way and we must keep our priorities straight, mustant we!!
Blessings,
Rashel

Staying inside today!!
Hi all. I can't talk long, it just started thundering again and I don't want my modem to get hit by lightening. Today we are having a nice little sleet/freezing rain storm around this part of the country. So, all the schools are cancelled which means I won't be babysitting today. I think we will get our basic stuff done and then I want to work on cleaning and decluttering the bedrooms. They haven't gotten much attention the last couple of weeks, other than basic picking up. Then this afternoon look like a good time to cuddle up on the couch, pop some popcorn and watch a movie. I will try to check back in this afternoon and let you know if I got any decluttering done.
Blessings and for those of you around here, stay safe and warm

Update on my son's arm
I know some of you asked for me to keep you posted on my son's broken arm, so here is the latest. We went to the doctor today expecting to get the cast off, wrong! His fracture is WORSE. It seems he has been using it while in the cast and it has made it worse. They took his cast off to x ray it, clean it and move it around, to stretch the muscles and then they put another cast on. He has to have this one for two weeks and then have a recheck. Please pray that it heals quickly and correctly this time or he may have to have surgery and have pins put in it. They said if it is better but not completely healed in two weeks, he will most likely get a removable splint because the elbow muscles need to be moved so his elbow doesn't lock up. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to how much he was using it and I sure didn't think it could get worse when it was in a cast. The dr said that if you try to use your hand or flex the muscles in your arm, it can still move the bone even in the cast. I guess I hadn't thought of that. So, my son feels really bad and mad at himself, for not taking better care of it and he is really bummed that he has to be in a cast for at least two more weeks.
So, please pray for him if you think about it. Gotta run, today is my youngest ds' birthday and we are going to eat supper in a bit. This weekend will be busy with birthday parties, so I will catch up with you Monday, Lord willing.
Blessings,
Rashel

Busy week ahead
I just wanted to pop on here and say I might not be on here much this week. My girlie turns 5 tomorrow and my youngest ds turns 7 Friday. Their parties are Saturday and Sunday evenings. So, this week will be busier than usual and I just have stuff I need to get done that won't get done if I am online all the time. It has come to be tradition that we go out to eat for birthdays and the birthday person gets to pick the place, neither of them have decided yet where we are going. I am hoping for Chicken Annie's, oh they have wonderful fried chicken!! Oh, and Chuck E Cheese is not an option, much to their disappointment!
Have a blessed day!

Today's plans
I am feeling better today after a day of rest yesterday. I think my body needed that down time to regroup. Well, I don't have alot on the schedule for today. I have all 3 extra children here until 3pm and I don't want to plan too much and then be stressed trying to get it done or stressed because I didn't get it done. I will do the basics and then we will see. I did tell the children that I would take them out to eat tonight since dh won't be here for supper. I don't know where we are going yet. Not too exciting around here this morning but I just wanted to check in. I may check in later and post what I have gotten done.
Have a wonderful day,
Rashel

crazy weather
It is no wonder there is so much sickness going around this part of the country. We have had stomach viruses, head cold, chest cold and another stomach virus all making the rounds - not just in our family but with friends and other family as well. The weather here is crazy, one day we set a record high of 78 degrees, then the next day we have a terrible thunderstorm and today it is snowing. This pattern has been going on for awhile now. I still have my head cold and it has moved to my chest now, I thought I was getting better but it was just migrating south . Oh, I will be so glad when all the nasty sick bugs are gone for good.
I have decided today will be a nice, relaxing, easy day. The children are getting their schoolwork done now and I am catching up on here. After this, I will get some laundry going and then finish up some dishes. I think the rest of the day will be reading together, watching a movie or maybe some handsewing or crocheting - something where I can sit and rest. I have a tater tot casserole in the freezer I am going to thaw for dinner, so that will be simple too. Dh won't be home for dinner tonight and the children love that casserole.
I better get off here for now. I hope you all have a wonderful day.
Blessings,
Rashel

Snow, making bread and just rambling.........
There isn't much going on around here today. The snow is coming down at a steady pace and they say we will get between 3-8 inches. I am okay with that because I don't have to get out today, I just pray dh makes it home safe this evening! They were calling for sleet too but I don't know if we will get that.
I made some extra bread last night and will put some in the freezer. I made three loaves Tuesday evening and another 3 loaves last night! The kids are eating it like crazy, I only have one loaf left from the batch Tuesday night. I have changed which recipe I am using per dh's request. The one I was using was delicious and very soft but also pretty sweet and he didn't want his bread that sweet tasting, so I found another recipe. I actually like this one better because it makes 3 loaves instead of 2 and it is super simple! It really does make a nice loaft of bread, obviously by how quick my bunch is eating it I got my current recipe from Crystal at The Family Homestead, it is her Mom's Basic Bread recipe and I do the whole thing in my kitchen aid mixer. I start it in there, mix it, knead it, let it rise, punch it down, and knead it again for a minute all in my mixer!! I LOVE that part! If you have questions about that, just ask me and I will explain in more detail.
Today I just plan to do the basics around the house and work on a daily, bare bone schedule of what needs done every single day, just to keep me on track. The children have some of their school work done and we will finish it up soon. Okay, I need to go see what is for supper and get it started (or at least thawing ).
Oh, yes. Today is my dad's birthday, so we called him and the kids sang happy birthday to him. I need to start working on invitations for my girlie's and youngest son's birthdays. Hers is the 12th and his is the 15th, so they share a birthday party. It works out though, because they get two birthday parties - one for dh's side and one for mine, simply because our house isn't big enough for everybody to come to one. The two older boys' birthdays are in the summer and they only get one party because we have them outside and there is room for all!
Have a blessed and warm day (cozy and dry inside for me)!
