Awesome modesty series and a few questions for skirts only ladies

12:23, Tuesday, October 16, 2007 .. Posted in Modest Dress .. 9 comments .. Link

This series is for all Christian women, not just those that believe in skirts only.  It is from Nancy Leigh DeMoss and I highly recommend it to any Christian woman.  It addresses alot of the questions that were brought up about the modesty issue not long ago.  I am not going to get into a debate about this again, I just had to share this link with you because I was so blessed and encouraged by it.  She shares alot of my same beliefs and puts it into words so much better than I can.  I was totally encouraged by it.   I must warn you though that it is a long series, so you may have to read a day or two at a time instead of reading it all at once like I did last night and spent an hour or so on the computer .   Here is the link for the series.  I think that will take you to the first one in the series.

She is also covering the topic of holiness in the church or the lack thereof.  I found yesterdays broadcast very interesting and plan to read more.  You can go here for more about Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

Here are my questions for those of you that have experience in many seasons with skirts/dresses only, how do you keep your legs warm?  I have been very tempted to go back to jeans lately but I don't want to.  I am especially set on this after reading the modesty article I linked to above.  So, I need your help.  What kind of leggins, tights or whatever do you wear in the winter?  It is getting down to 50's and 60's here already and that is too cool for my bare legs.  It is funny though because come March, those temps will feel warm to me!  I know it will only get colder and I want to be prepared.  What kind of skirts do you wear in the winter?  I also need to get prepared to keep my girlie warm, so please help.

Blessings,

Rashel

PS- If you read the above series, please come back and let me know what you thought.

Review of my week in feminine dress

08:14, Monday, September 24, 2007 .. Posted in Modest Dress .. 2 comments .. Link

Candy  asked those of us that participated in the week of feminine dress pictures to make one post with all of our pictures and send here the link.  So, here is my big post.  I only have 5 pictures, Monday through Friday.  The weekend was rather busy and I didn't get pictures done, I am sorry.

Our day and a comment about my dress

08:19, Sunday, September 23, 2007 .. Posted in Modest Dress .. 4 comments .. Link

It's evening time around here, we just finished supper and the two littles and I washed the dishes.  The kids are taking turns taking baths and watching a John Wayne movie with their Daddy.  We had a BBQ and time of fellowship at church today after services to celebrate the opening of our new playground equipment, it was a wonderful time.  We didn't do much this afternoon, relaxed around the house for awhile.  I watched a show about the Duggar family that mommyof4 recorded for me, thanks mo4!  We had homemade biscuits, sausage gravy and scrambled eggs (fresh farm eggs from the inlaws) for supper.  I still need to work on my biscuits, I got them too thin or they didn't rise enough, one or the other.  They weren't bad though.  So, not an eventful day but a nice one.

I did want to tell you all about something someone said to me today.  One of the ladies at church, another mother of 4 that is about my age, pulled me to the side and said she wanted to tell me something.  She said that she had noticed my dress lately and she wanted to tell me that it was a blessing to her.  She said that with all the tight clothing and such that seeing me and girlie in our dresses/skirts had been a blessing to her.  I can't even tell you how touched I was and how blessed I was that she shared that with me.  She also asked me later about the skirt I had made for girlie out of old jeans and I told her I would get her the pattern.  It was such an encouragement to me to hear that today.  She is the only one that has made a positive comment about my dress other than telling me I looked nice. Thank you Lord for encouraging me in this way.  (She had on a nice long skirt today as well!!)  There were many at the church that changed clothes after services for the BBQ, I didn't and I noticed neither did she.  Want to know something else?  I am so much more comfortable in skirts!  Truly!! There have been a couple days that I thought just around the house, I will wear my capris or today my shorts (it was hot) but my skirts are so much more comfortable.  For instance, today when we got home I put on shorts and changed shirts but then I had to run somewhere so I put my favorite jean skirt and a t-shirt on and it was so much more comfy.  I didn't change when I got home, I still have my skirt on!

Blessings to you all,

Rashel

Feminine Dress Day 5, a little late

07:23, Saturday, September 22, 2007 .. Posted in Modest Dress .. 3 comments .. Link

Sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday, we were gone running errands most of the day.  Girlie and I did some by ourselves yesterday morning and then the afternoon was spent running them with dh and the boys.  Last night we had a birthday party to go to and an anniversary dinner.  We only got to stay at the party for about 30 minutes and then we had to head to dinner.  My inlaws were celebrating their 45th anniversary and the whole family got together for dinner.  I did manage to get a picture before we left for the party, our hair wasn't fixed yet but we were dressed

Now, before anyone says anything about my shirt, I did fix it so the lines were not showing before we left.  I just didn't have time to take another picture and I also didn't realize it until I saw the picture.

Blessings and I hope you enjoyed our week in feminine dress.  Here is another great post about modesty, go to In the 'Zarks to read it.

Feminine Dress Day Three

Okay, here is my picture for the day.  I know that this is not the best picture but I hope you don't mind.  I also want to say, yes, I know girlie's shirt comes up a little but when we are just staying home and she is playing, I don't get too concerned.  Today is a stay home, clean, declutter and organize day, therefore, I am not all "dressed up" either.  I guess that is okay though because this way you get to see me in my everday dress and I am not trying to look different just because I am posting pictures.  So here ya go...

my girlie's dress today

Quiverfullacres inspired me to post pics of my girlie in her dress too. I purposely had her looking down for safety reasons and the wind was blowing her dress but you can still see it.  She loves wearing skirts and dresses and they don't slow her down a bit.  When it is cool, she wears leggins underneath and most times she wears shorts underneath for even more modesty.
