Our day and a comment about my dress

It's evening time around here, we just finished supper and the two littles and I washed the dishes.  The kids are taking turns taking baths and watching a John Wayne movie with their Daddy.  We had a BBQ and time of fellowship at church today after services to celebrate the opening of our new playground equipment, it was a wonderful time.  We didn't do much this afternoon, relaxed around the house for awhile.  I watched a show about the Duggar family that mommyof4 recorded for me, thanks mo4!  We had homemade biscuits, sausage gravy and scrambled eggs (fresh farm eggs from the inlaws) for supper.  I still need to work on my biscuits, I got them too thin or they didn't rise enough, one or the other.  They weren't bad though.  So, not an eventful day but a nice one.

I did want to tell you all about something someone said to me today.  One of the ladies at church, another mother of 4 that is about my age, pulled me to the side and said she wanted to tell me something.  She said that she had noticed my dress lately and she wanted to tell me that it was a blessing to her.  She said that with all the tight clothing and such that seeing me and girlie in our dresses/skirts had been a blessing to her.  I can't even tell you how touched I was and how blessed I was that she shared that with me.  She also asked me later about the skirt I had made for girlie out of old jeans and I told her I would get her the pattern.  It was such an encouragement to me to hear that today.  She is the only one that has made a positive comment about my dress other than telling me I looked nice. Thank you Lord for encouraging me in this way.  (She had on a nice long skirt today as well!!)  There were many at the church that changed clothes after services for the BBQ, I didn't and I noticed neither did she.  Want to know something else?  I am so much more comfortable in skirts!  Truly!! There have been a couple days that I thought just around the house, I will wear my capris or today my shorts (it was hot) but my skirts are so much more comfortable.  For instance, today when we got home I put on shorts and changed shirts but then I had to run somewhere so I put my favorite jean skirt and a t-shirt on and it was so much more comfy.  I didn't change when I got home, I still have my skirt on!

Blessings to you all,

Rashel

My daughters love skirts, I am happy about this. They are teen agers. They do wear pants sometiomes but tell me that their skirts are soo much more comfortable. Even when they are doing barn chores, they prefer a skirt.
This is a blessing to me.

I do have many teenaged nieces who have noticed the way my girls dress, no makeup, very long hair, and always modest. These nieces become uncomfortable about their immodest dress and begin to explain why they have on such short shorts or such low cut tops. My girls do not judge and do not want to make anyone feel uncomfortable.
I do see that modest dress may become contagious.

I am happy about your modest ways and hope that many more women will become modest in their dress and actions.

**I also hope that more women will become modest. I also don't judge and I don't want to make others uncomfortable, but I do hope that if they are uncomfortable about their dress, then maybe they will think about how they should be dressing. I am also so glad that your daughters love dressing modestly, praise God for that.
Blessings,
Rashel

Congrats on the compliment!

I really enjoy the comfort of my skirts. *And* not changing after church!

Aww. That was encouraging of her to share that with you! I am glad you feel comfy in skirts. So do I! I love them.

**I am so glad she did share with me. Yes, I have come to love my skirts.
