7 Day Detox Diet

05:05, Wednesday, May 30, 2007 .. Posted in Personal care .. 4 comments .. Link

I found this diet over at Dana's blog and I want to give it a try.  I have been wanting to do a detox diet but hadn't found one I thought I could do.  I think I can do this, although, it will be hard.  I just want to add that I am not doing this to lose the weight (although, I have gained 5 lbs the last month), I am doing this for the detox and extra energy.  I want to see how different I feel after detoxing my system.  So, I have copied and pasted the diet off of Dana's blog to below.  If you want to join us, please leave a comment and let me know.  I plan to start tomorrow.  I may need a little encouragement, especially the day I have to eat 8 bananas!   I have my grocery list made to pick up everything I am going to need and I will go while in town tomorrow.   So, would you like to join me (us)?

This is a 7 day eating plan that can be used as often as you like.  If correctly followed it will clean out your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being as never before.  After only 7 days of this process, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 4,5 - 7,7kg.(10 pounds)  You will have abundance of energy.  Continue on this plan as long as you wish to feel the difference.  This diet is fast fat-burning and the secret is that you will burn more calories than you can take in.

The Soup
2 cans of tomatoes or fresh tomatoes
3 large onions
1 bunch of celery
2 green peppers
2 cans of green beans or fresh beans
2 large bunches of carrots

Method: Season with salt/pepper, beef cubes.  I used Bay Leaf, & powder garlic also(Robbin) it adds more flavor. Cut veggies in small to medium pieces. Cover with boiling water and cook.  Reduce heat to simmer and continue cooking.  This soup can be eaten ANY TIME you are hungry, eat as much as you like whenever you want.  This does not contain calories.  The more you eat the more you lose.

Drinks:  unsweetened juices, tea, coffee, cranberry juice, skimmed milk and water, water, water....

DAY ONE
Any fruit except bananas, watermelon & spanspek(cantaloupe) are lower in calories than other fruits. Eat only soup and fruits today.

DAY TWO
All vegetables. Eat till you are stuffed with fresh, raw, cooked or canned vegetables. Try to eat green leafy veggies. Stay away from dry beans, peas or corn.  At dinner tonight, reward yourself with a big baked potatoe and butter.  Do NOT eat ANY fruit today.

DAY THREE
Eat all the soup, fruit and veggies you want. DO NOT have a baked potatoe. If you have eaten as above for 3 days and not cheated, you should have lost 2.2 to 3.1 kg (4-6 pounds)

DAY FOUR
Bananas and skimmed milk - eat at least 8 bananas and as much milk as you can today.  Also eat the soup.  Bananas are high in calories and carbohydrates as in milk.  On this particular day your body will need potassium and carbohydrates which lessen the craving for fruit.

DAY FIVE
Beef and tomatoes. You may have 625 grams(22 oz.) of beef and 4 tomatoes on this day. Eat soup at least once today.

DAY SIX
Beef and veggies.  Eat to your heart's content of the beef  and veggies today.  You can have 2 - 3 steaks with green leafy veggies, but NO baked potatoe. Be sure to eat soup at least once today.

DAY SEVEN
Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and veggies.  Again be sure to stuff yourself and eat soup.  You can add cooked veggies to your rice if you wish.

By the end of the 7th day you should have lost 4,5 - 6,8 kg (10 pounds). If you lost more than 7,7 kg stay off the diet for 2 days before resuming the diet again.  This diet does not lend itself to any alcoholic beverages at all.  Because of the fat build-up in your system, go off the diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol.  Because everyone's digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently.  After 3 days you will have more energy than when you began if you don't cheat.  After being on the diet for several days, you will find your bowel movements have changed.  Eat a cup of bran or fiber.

Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don't need caffeine after the third day.  The basic fat burning soup can be eaten anytime you feel hungry during the 7 days. Eat as much as you wish.  Remember the more you eat the more you lose. You can eat boiled or baked chicken instead of beef(no skin). If you prefer you can eat fish instead of beef on one of the beef days.  You need the high protein in the beef for the other day.  Any prescribed medication will not hurt or affect you on this diet.  Continue the diet plan as long as you wish, and feel the difference both mentally and physically.

DO NOT! DO NOT! DO NOT! eat bread, drink alcohol, carbonated drinks (including diet drinks) REMEMBER....absolutely no fried foods!

DO! DO! DO! Drink plenty of water, at least 6 - 8 glasses a day as well as any combination of the following beverages...black coffee, unsweetened tea, unsweetened fruit drinks, cranberry juice and skimmed milk.
**Disclaimer: I have not tried this and cannot say what medical effects it may have on you.  I make no promises of more energy or weight loss.  Please consult your doctor before starting if you have any health conditions which may be affected by this diet.

Good luck on the Banana Day, I would rather eat dirt than to drink skimmed milk all day.

If God intended for us to drink milk that was watered down, the cows would give it to us like that.

**I hear ya! I think I will be doing more fruit juice and water than anything else.

Yep I start tomorrow too.

I won't drink the milk - hope it doesn't matter - but I can eat the banana's - not sure 8 but we will see.

*** 8 is alot isn't it. That will be a challenge for sure. Drink lots of water or unsweetened juice, that is my plan.

LOL....that's me, too...skim milk is just opaque water. ick. Now, the banana's I think I can do...but, wow, 8 does seem like a lot. I may start climbing trees and making chimp noises on that day!
Dewey and I will be giving it a go next week. I'll gather what we need and get it ready to go.

**Heehee, a chimp is funny. That is great that you have someone to do this with. It was really hard for me and I didn't last very long. I may try again in a week or so. Good luck. I did lose 3-4 lbs though.

Bananas???!

Yikes, what about someone who doesn't LIKE bananas?!? I can eat a PERFECTLY ripe one every now and then, but certainly not more than that at any one time! What's such a person to do on "banana day?!"

Maria :)

**I don't know. That is alot and I don't care for too many, so I don't know if I will get 8. I thought about putting some in the blender with the milk and some ice to see if that would make it easier. Just a thought.
