A challenge for you, the "one foot method"

08:58, Friday, April 13, 2007 .. Posted in One foot challenge .. 3 comments .. Link

I have been putting off decluttering and doing my spring cleaning lately.  I started out really good several weeks ago and then I don't know what happened.  I have this problem with wanting to do too much all at once and then it seems none of it gets done well.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I found a website called girl talk and I can tell I will be spending way too much time on there in the near future.  Anyway, I found this terrific idea of a new, less intimidating way to declutter and clean!  The article quotes Elizabeth George and gives her credit for what she calls "the one foot method". What she does is she tackles one drawer, one shelf or one foot of space each day.  We can do this!! With this small of a space, you can do this while waiting on your email to load, while waiting on the tea to brew or while talking on the phone.  The article also talks about your "elephant", your worst space in your home.  Which space do you avoid at all costs?  Which is the last place in your home you want to clean?  My "elephant" is my bedroom.  It seems that everything gets piled in my room when it doesn't have a home.  So, I will be tackling my "elephant" one foot at a time starting today.  Are you with me?  My goal is to clean/declutter one foot everyday and then post what I have done (weekends are excluded).  Do you want to join me?  If you do, comment below and tell me what your elephant is and we can do this together!  Come on, I need some accountability partners here.

I am so with you guys. My only problem is deciding which elephant to start with. Closet? Cabinets? Basement? I could go on and on and on...

**Yeah! I am so excited to have you join us!! Yep, I have more than one elephant as well. I just had to pick the one that I always avoid and just dig in. Let us know when you tackle a foot and which elephant you choose to start with.

Sadly, my whole house is a beast of an elephant....but I will say that my bedroom is the worst room. I'd like to join in for accountability!

**That is great! Not that your whole house is an elephant, but that you want to join us. :) I am so happy to have another partner in this.
