This is my post for the first week's theme Tie One On. 4/7/08 through 4/11/08
---------------------------------------------------------------
This is my favorite apron of my many aprons. It  was given to me, by my Granny. She knows that I like old things and aprons, so she gave it to me. I am not sure of where it came from. I can tell that is it a hand-made apron and that it is a vintage apron.

I enjoy imagining who the apron was made by or who the apron belonged to before me. Did it belong to a mother or a granny?
What kind of foods did they cooked while wearing this apron? Fried chicken, chicken gravy and mashed potatoes? Maybe an apple pie?
I imagine these kind of things while I am wearing this apron and all of my other old aprons.
Aprons and other old things are special to me because they help me imagine ways that are different than today. The ways of the past.
Here is a picture of it.
Here is a close-up of the fruit design.
Isn't it pretty? I love the fruit design on this apron and the bright colors!

Hi Belle..
I love the apron! and really enjoyed your post.
I too like to collect aprons..and have a few from the 1920's and even one from the 1800's. I also like to try and imagine who might have made the apron..what they might have been doing when they wore it.
It's so fun to own a bit of history.
So neat that you have an apron from your granny.
