Apples, Apples, Apples!!

We are busy with apples right now. A friend we know is giving us apples, for free! Our friend is letting us have all the apples that we want, that is so nice of our friend!
We are making Apple Sauce and Apple Pie filling to put in the freezer. I would also like to try making homemade Apple Juice.
We have never made homemade Apple Sauce before now. We thought this would be a great time to try make it since, we are getting so many apples right now. The Apple Sauce is delicious! (I am eating some of the apple sauce we just made right now, as I type!)
We are staying busy with that and the wild blackberries are coming on in my area. I am excited to start picking them! We will probably pick some this week, so we can make some Blackberry Jelly! We use a lot of Blackberry Jelly in Peanut Butter Sandwiches.

Sounds like fun! We also love to make and eat homemade applesauce (and pie filling). What a wonderful blessing from yor friend. How is your mother feeling these day? I have been praying for her. :-)

Hey Belle,
I just wanted to stop by and say hi. I haven`t really been on here much lately. I have missed a lot of your post. I use to make applesauce and can it for my kids when they were babies. I haven`t made any in a long time. Right now, I am working in cucumbers. I have them running out my ears. lol sheryl

Our apples are not quite ready yet on our three apple trees, they will not be ready 'til mid August. Right now we are harvesting blueberries (which I happen to be alergic to, so I do not get to enjoy them, but it is fun to pick them anyway)! In a few weeks we and some of our friends are going to start gathering blackberries in the woods on our property as they are not quite ready either. With our apples I think we are just making apple preserves(SP?) and Apple Butter! So tasty.
Sincerely,
~Mary-Ann~

Blessings Miss Belle!
Apples can be done in so many yummy ways:) You can make the applesauce, applebutter (my favorite), apple pie filling and just plain apple pieces...all canned and ready for your craving in minutes:)
You might want to throw in a few hands of blackberries into that applesauce as it's cooking. It's a tastey combination:) Or you can add a couple teaspoons of cinnamon into the apples for that cinnamon apple flavor before filling your jars:)
Have such fun. We love to can our harvest here. We are harvesting our blueberries which Mary-Ann has already told you about and our blackberries will be ready on another week or so. Can't wait!
God be with thee!
