Louisiana in the News

This was on the news today here!

BATON ROUGE, La. - Gov. Kathleen Blanco signed legislation Friday that penalizes doctors who perform a late-term abortion procedure, making Louisiana the first to outlaw the surgery since a similar federal ban was upheld this year.

The new law allows the procedure only when the mother's life would be endangered without it. It would be a crime in all other cases, including when the pregnancy is expected to cause health problems for the mother.

Under the Louisiana legislation, doctors face fines of between $1,000 and $10,000, and jail terms of between one and 10 years.

About time someone banned this awful procedure!

I'm from La so your title caught my attention. Usually when La is in the news it's never anything good, LOL. But in this case Im happy to be from here, GO US, lol. She is a pretty good gov. I have always thought that is the way it should be, only when the mothers life is in danger.
Have a great day.

Good for us here in Louisiana, but isn't life worth more than these pennies? I am just saying the doctors should be more accountable than that..Life is too precious....Thanks for the information...God bless you and your family...Debbie
