Home Sweet Simple Home

Monday On My Homestead

2:12 PM, 2006-Apr-3 .. 2 comments .. Link

Accomplished so far: Breakfast, 2 loads of laundry, youth pastor paper work done, lunch for 5 (friend of girls over to play), early dinner prep done, story time. Kitchen counters cleaned. Front of fridge cleaned (thanks to SamÂ’s artistic expression . . . . )

Plans for this afternoon: fold laundry and put away (girls will help), bake cookies, catch up on my blog reading. Clean stove top. Prep a snack for my hubby and prep lunch for tomorrow. The girls & I will plant a flat of their flower seeds.

This evening: After dinner we are planning on having our weekly family meeting followed by family devotions. Then popcorn and a family movie together.

I hope to conclude the evening with some quiet time in my journal as well as some snuggle/quiet time with my Hubby.

This week is Spring Break so weÂ’ll be allowing the girls to stay up an hour later and sleep in a bit more in the mornings. I let them have a real easy morning today and planned today to be simple with lots of downtime. The rest of the week is filled with fun plans and activities. My oldest DD Lucy is hoping to get to help more in the kitchen this week and I plan on letting her.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.

DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
