My Deliverer

3:08 PM, 2008-Jan-9 .. Posted in God is Good .. 3 comments .. Link
Yesterday as I prayed and continued to ponder all that God is revealing to me, I asked God to give me a verse for this situation. A verse to touch my heart and carry me through. I asked Him to please, show me in a real way that He was in charge and would see us through.
This morning as I opened my prayer book- the following just popped up from the top of the page:

Praise & Prayer Focus – Deliverer
But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinks upon me. You are my help and my deliverer; do not delay. O my God. Psalm 40:17
Praying the Word: I am small in worth, and yet, the Lord God Almighty thinks about me! O God, hurry up; help me and deliver me. I need you.
[Excerpt from: The Busy Mom’s Guide to Prayer by Lisa Whelchel]

Wow! When I read that I just had to put the book down and go right into a prayer of praise and thanksgiving. I asked for a verse for my heart to hold onto and He gave it to me! Thank you Lord.
The thought of being sued can still tie my stomach into knots and make be start going down the “what if” path . . . . but not too far because I KNOW HE WILL DELIVER ME.
Allow me to share some verses I looked up today about being delivered:
The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my
deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. ~Psalm 18:2
I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He
delivered
me from all my fears. ~Psalm 34:4
A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord
delivers
him from all of them. ~Psalm 34:19
For He will
deliver
the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. ~Psalm 72:12
But you, O Sovereign Lord, deal well with me for your name’s sake; out of the goodness of your love,
deliver me
. ~Psalm 109:21
There is a couple of lines from a song that has just been playing over and over in my head these past few days- even before being given this verse. I find myself spontaneously humming or singing the 2 line chorus [forgive me but I do not know the name of the song or who sings it- if you do please share so that I may give credit where credit is due]. Here it is:
My Deliverer is coming.
My Deliverer is standing by.

So now when I feel my stomach knotting up and I begin to play “what if”—I start singing those 2 lines and praying.
My Deliverer is coming. My Deliverer is standing by . . . . .

God is So Good!

That is so AWESOME! I LOVE it when The Lord answers prayer that fast. I had the same experience just last week.

It's like He is just waiting to answer our prayers. We just have to ask. Why is that so hard, I ask myself. It's usually that way when I am in the "flesh" so to speak!

Praise The Lord! Praise Him all ye lands!

Have a blessed week in The Lord!

I just wanted to tell you how much your posts encourage me. We all have made a mess out of our lives at one time or another. Me included. I am reading a book by Elizabeth George called Loving God with all your mind. Its about overcoming worry and realizing God allows all things to happen for his purpose. Whatever that may be. I will keep praying for you as I would like you to pray for me. Love, Tina

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.

DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
