Home Sweet Simple Home

Farmers Market

We have had the most lovely day today. My mom, the kiddos and I went on an adventure. We are blessed to live about half an hour away from this Farmers Market which just opened last weekend.
It opens at 7 am and we were there around 7:30 am. It is as lovely as the pictures show it. [my digital camera is on the fritz]
I did a lot of window shopping and my oh so wonderful mama treated me to a couple of gifts (just because she can- is how she puts it) a lovely sage green white washed basket and teeny-tiny wooden bowl with "FAITH" printed inside it.
I purchased a tomato bigger than a fist, a pint of strawberries, sugared almonds for Mr. Steady and a lovely flower bouquet for my mama. Oh and an apple fritter too- but that didn't make it home. Yum!
There was just so much to look at! The kiddos equipped themselves with maps right away and became the offical map readers. Mr. Conductor was forever craning his neck to see all the woodwork and craftmanship around him.
It was simply put, a wonderful morning- a much needed respite from all that has been going on.
We finished up at the market around 9:30 am and then stopped at Aldi's and Goodwill. I picked up a pair of jeans for Mr. Steady and new summer shoes for Sassafras at Goodwill. Maiden purchased an electronic math game she'd been wanting for quite some time- finding it much better to pay $3 than $20.
God is good.

Sounds like a lovely day! Aren't moms great? Mine still likes to spoil me from time to time. After a wee bit of guilt, I just enjoy!

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
