God provides

I am still here. God is good.
Some work has come our way for over the summer- painting and repairing a friend's barn and other misc. odd jobs for our whole little family to chip in on. This will help us to earn back most of the money that was recently wiped out.
God is good.
Due to these recent circumstances my father took the bull by the horns and told my brother and I to let "it" all go. He said to my brother, "Family sticks together. Your sister really needs you to be all there for her right now. Let it go. No more bickering." And then to me he said, "You need to let it go- this is more important. Standing with family is more important. We will get you through this."
God is good.
The weekend was wonderful. Just like old times with my family. A huge heavy burden has been lifted off my heart. I look on it all and think I'd rather be on a rocky foundation financially than with my family. I am more whole now than I was a week ago.
God is good.
Looking back on recent events, Mr. Steady and I have listed many blessings that God lined up for us- because He KNEW better than us.
Blessing: The money could have been taken from us earlier in the month without our knowledge- for some reason it didn't happen until almost all our monthly bills had been paid.
Blessing: We had other money set aside that just covered the overdraft to our accounts.
Blessing: I had already purchased all our school curriculum for 2007-08.
Blessing: We paid off our car at the beginning of the month.
Blessing: I paid our mortgage payment earlier in the month rather than at the end of the month as usual.
Looking back we can see how God orchastrated things to our benefit. Yes, our money is gone but we are not destitute. We have time to earn money to pay for the expenses the money that was taken was earmarked for. God also watched over me as I dealt with the creditor and our credit counceling agency and helped us to reach a viable solution. No we can't get back the money that was taken from us but God did provide for our wellbeing.
He is our Rock and our Refuge.
I can do nothing less than totally rely on Him.
God is good.

Amy,
I was getting concerned when there were no updates after that urgent one at the end of the week.
I think it's great that you have shared your recent setbacks with your family and that they are being supportive. It's terrific that you found the little side job that will replenish the money taken from you.
I have had your family and a co-worker on my mind this holiday weekend. My co-worker is on the verge of being fired from his job after 24 years with our company. I think he is being treated very unfairly. Basically, we work for a major US company, and as a cost cutting measure they have been laying off, harrassing until they quit, or finding a trumped up reason to fire workers in their late 40s to early 50s in what I believe to be a cost cutting measure. In our company, if you are employed at the age of 55+ and have over 10 years of service, you qualify for a pension that varies on your age/income at retirement and access to health care at retirement. My co-worker is 52. Our boss was fired about a month ago and he is 53. Quite a coincidence.
I hope my co-worker's situation ends up as positive as your problem has.
I am trying to understand this situation a little better. Now that the person or company who won the judgment against you has been able to access your savings, does that mean that the debt to that person/company has been dismissed? Is it considered "paid" now? I am hoping that may be another positive from this very stressful week you have had.
You are right, God will provide.

Thank you for the kind comments and most of all for your prayers.
The judgement against us does not satisfy the amount owed (the money taken does go towards the amount owed) but we have worked out a payment plan that will work for now.
Lynne- My heart goes out to your co-worker. I have seen these types of business tactics here in our own area. It is very hard for this age group to find another comparable job (especially in Michigan right now!). I believe this to be a distasteful form of discrimination.

Oh Amy!

I am so thankful for the peace that God is giving you. I am also thankful for the way you can look back and see what all God did do that was really helpful!

I know this will feel like a struggle for a while, I will keep you in my prayers! Just know that the Lord tells us in His word that He will provide all our needs! He will provide for you and your lovely family!

Blessings! DJ

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.

DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
