A New Birth

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luke 15:10

My cup runneth over this day. At breakfast, we were discussing why today is a special day for us [Good Friday] and last night’s communion service. The girls asked what Mr. Conductor meant by testament (from his words last nite) and I said he meant testimony. I told them that to give testimony meant to share what God is doing in your life or to share how you came about to asking Jesus into your heart. I then shared my personal testimony with the girls. Maiden then shared her testimony of being saved during Sunday School class with a teacher who is now very special to her. We asked Sassafras to share her testimony and she looked at us blankly. We had been led to believe that she had asked Jesus into her heart during VBS two years ago but she shook her head and said, “I was too scared.” Her daddy then shared with her what it means to ask Jesus into your heart and that she needed to have an understanding of it before it could become real for her. He shared that she wasn’t ready two years ago and asked if she was ready today. She looked at him with tears in her eyes and nodded. He grinned at me and took her by the hand. They went to our bedroom where they knelt down by the bed and prayed together. When they were walking out of the kitchen, Maiden looked at me with tears shining in her eyes and said, “I’m so happy for Sassafras. Her life will be different now.” Maiden and I then decided to go into the living room and kneel at the couch and pray for Sassafras as she prayed with her daddy upstairs. We thanked God for our family and that we belong to him and we prayed that Sassy would truly understand what she was doing and that God would bless her life. After we were finished, Maiden said, “Mama the angels are rejoicing. The bible says the angels rejoice when someone is saved.”
How beautiful is that picture on this holy day! Today in heaven, angels rejoiced for my precious middle child, my soft-hearted second daughter. Oh the wonder! Oh the joy!
Today is a day of celebration!
Thank you Jesus. Thank you.
My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you— I, whom you have redeemed. Psalm 71:23

Yahhhhh for Sassafras!!! Woo Hoo!! Heaven is rejoicing and singing for her! : )
During bible study Wed morning my children and I got into a very Spirit led discussion about how a person is saved and what it means to repent, apologize and ask God to fill you with His spirit. It was amazing and I really think it clarified a few things for a few of them. Our oldest already had a good understanding and has taken those steps.
Congrats Sassafras- I look forward to meeting you in heaven sweetie!
God Bless,
~Rhen

WooHoo!
It is so precious when a child (well, anyone!) - especially one of your own - understands salvation. Rejoicing with you!

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
