Homeschool Resources a la Kim

3:23 PM, 2007-Mar-15 .. Posted in Homeschooling .. 3 comments .. Link

A dear blogging friend of mine, fellow homesteader and inspiring homeschooler, Kim Wolf, has put up a great post on homeschooling resources. Go HERE!
She listed many of my favorites and some I hadn't tried out yet (of course, now I have searched a few of the links and bookmarked them!). Thanks Kim!
Also her lovely post has prompted me to want to share my 2 cents (if it can be priced that high! LOL):

I enjoy the weekly freebies from the Homeschool E-store.
I just found this lovely
notebooking pages site.
I really enjoy
Amanda Bennett's unit studies. We did the Christmas one this year and it was a wonderful break/change in schedule for us.
And I also greatly enjoy
Preschool by Stormie for wonderful worksheets, themes, ideas, projects and more for the younger set.
Hands and Hearts offers some great hands-on kits to go along with your studies. We truly enjoyed building the catapult from the Middle Ages kit but making our own chain mail was really hard! Hands and Hearts has an array of different goodies to tempt us homeschoolers.
I have to go right along with Kim on some of my hands-down favorites- Rainbow Resources and Christian Book Distributors. You can often find the same materials at a great discount from either of these reputable e-stores.
Thanks again Kim for sharing such helpful hints.
Now, scoot on over to
her post if you haven't done it yet . . . .

Sinus Help

12:06 PM, 2007-Mar-16 .. Posted by Lynne
Amy, I, too, suffer seasonally from sinus pain. Two years ago, my MD told me to take two Mucinex and 1 Sudafed at bedtime. They are both non-prescription, and they really work for me with no drowsiness during the day. I buy them at WalMart.
She also told me Tylenol is ineffective for a sinus headache, stick with Ibuprophen (Motrin type).

Thanks

Lynne-
Thanks for the advice. It seems to get worse each year as I get older. Mr. Steady and I had been talking about me visiting the Dr. because of it. My plan is to start on Claritin (sp?). Heard anything bad about it?
