Fun Yogurt- cheaplyMy Works for Me Wednesday tip is quite simple today. My children love a certain brand of yogurt in the grocery store that comes with a little separate container on the top full of sprinkles, granola, Oreo crumbles or candy bar bits. Their favorites are the vanilla yogurt with Oreo crumbles or the strawberry yogurt with Nestle Crunch candy bar bits. The cheapest I have found these little yogurts is 50 cents each. Which doesn't seem like much but when you eat yogurt like my kiddos do . . . . . well, you'll start looking for an alternative. The alternative was very easy to come up with. I buy a large (32 oz) container of Vanilla Yogurt for around $1.50 and no name brand Oreos. Can you imagine the fun in crunching up your very own Oreos??!! You should have seen the look on my daughters faces when I told them I wanted them to break/crush the cookies up into itty bitty pieces! LOL You can also purchase larger containers of strawberry yogurt, to which we add chocolate chips or sprinkles or our own granola (and ahem, the knock-off brand of Fruity Pebbles is pretty good with strawberry yogurt too . . . . ).This offers a fun breakfast item or snack around here. The kids think they are getting something special and I know I didn't pay big bucks for it. Works for me. Now go on over to Shannon's to spy more little fun tips.
