Sore muscles, Truffles and dirty mashed potatoes

Oh, I just love coming up with quirky titles to my posts!
Ugh. Having quite a time getting online today. Dial up is acting up . . . .
Took it as a sign to get going on many other things.
I shoveled the walk and the car (which the road crews had buried right out in front of my house!) plus under the car and tires as it was all pretty much packed in there. Worked up a real good sweat and figure I worked off the couple of Oreo truffles I ate and pretty much anything else I had eaten today. My shoulder aches and my arm muscles ache so I'll be putting some Tiger Balm on that soon.
The Oreo Truffles are exquisite! Oh, My Stars! You need coffee or milk to wash those delectable goodies down!
I've got the steak marinating and the potatoes are all cut and soaking in salt water for Mr. Steady's Dirty Mashed Potatoes.
Oh and I was asked about the recipe for those- we call them dirty because we do not peel the potatoes (lots of good for you stuff in those skins!). I'm not sure as to the exact recipe as Mr. Steady is not a measure it out exactly cook- he's more of an eyeballer. So here goes- 15 lbs. of potatoes scrubbed clean and cut into chunks, soak in large pot of salt water for at least 2 hours. Cook potatoes on med. high heat on stove for approx. 1 hour or until potatoes feel soft enough to mash. Drain potatoes. Add one pound of butter (I kid you not), 8 oz. brick of cream cheese, about a cup of sour cream and about a cup to 2 cups of milk. Mash potatoes. Add more milk if needed. We don't over mash as we love lumpy potatoes here. Mr. Steady cuts the recipe to about on third of this when he's just making it for our little family but this is his Christmas Dinner version (feeds 30+ people plus left-overs).
The flower arrangement for the dinner table has been made and the table is set. I decided to forgo my granny's tablecloth as Mr. Conductor just can't be trusted not to try that magic tablecloth trick . . . .

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.

DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
