Home Sweet Simple Home
Goings on
Today we are doing minimum school and many projects. We plan to make up a few Cowboy Cookie Mixes, a few more snowman pins and a big batch of fudge to share with the neighbors.Later on, Maiden is planning on going to Nana's to work on her sewing projects which are gifts. She is sewing pillowcases for her brother, sister and cousin. The fabric she picked out is so cute and fitting for each individual. I am sure everyone will be pleased.
Tonight is city caroling for our church. Last night was country caroling. We split up the caroling between those that live in the country and those that live in the city because there are so many different people we want to carol and we just couldn't do it one night. We take the church bus and have a rollicking good time.
I have dug out paper plates, cups and bowls and we started using them yesterday. It is one of my ways of simplifying during this busy time. With all the baking we've been doing we are generating enough dishes for Maiden and I to be washing. I don't like the extra trash we accumulate but something needed to go/change in order to maintain balance.
Tomorrow nite we are planning to watch It's A Wonderful Life as a family. Maiden has been looking forward to that movie for a couple of weeks.

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.
DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.
DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.
DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
