Out of the frying pan and sittin' in the Pressure CookerWe are in need of a break. Mama and the kids (and probably Mr. Steady too). I can tell that we need to take some time off of school. It is taking the girls longer and longer to get up, get dressed and eat their breakfast in the morning and there is a lot more daydreaming than work going on. Taking a day off here and there isn’t enough- they are in need of a week’s break and so is the mama. I am one tired mama. Now granted, for me, the extra pressure of the last few days is more to blame. I am tired- bone tired. And I know it is from the stress and pressure of my family (both my own and the church family)- nothing like emotional issues to wear you out faster than running a 10K. So I have simplified school down to the bare minimum and the fun stuff for the rest of the week. We plan on taking all of next week off and perhaps a bit of the following week. We will dig out the board games and card games and a new family puzzle. We’ll sleep in and we’ll recuperate. I am reminded of how I felt towards the end of a semester in college- the intense pressure and overwhelming relief followed by a couple of days of doing nothing in order to recuperate. I am thinking that is needed for a homeschooling family too. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 930 of 1617 } { Next Page } |
