Interesting and Different Decorations

While I endeavor to live a more simplified/pared down life- it does not apply to our Christmas tree. We love to load up the tree with all of our ornaments. This year we actually couldn't put every ornament on and so a few are left in their boxes with hopes of us having 2 trees some day.
We are different in some of our decorations. One of the different ways I decorate started right from Mr. Steady and my first Christmas- we put our wedding invitation on the tree. Then I was digging and found my parents wedding invitation and so- up that went on the tree also. Then, of course, I hounded asked my mother-in-law for their wedding invitation. I think she found it for me about 2 years later. Here is a view of our invitation and my parents', my in-laws is up and to the left a bit and I couldn't get it in the shot.

Another tradition we started when Maiden was born (2 weeks before Christmas). We added her baby announcement on the tree. The next year we added her first pair of shoes along with the announcement and made sure to hang her "Baby's First Christmas" ornament over the whole tableau. And so the tradition has continued with Sassafrass and Mr. Conductor (only Mr. Conductor's first shoes are MIA right now. I am praying they will show up.)

Sassafras has the Noah's Ark announcement and pink shoes with the little nut cradle ornament that hangs in front of the announcement. Maiden has the white card announcement, red shoes and Mama and Baby bunny rocking ornament.

I went to Aldi's on the way home from work today. We were really low on food. I got so much food for so little money that I called my husband and told him I feel like I am stealing.
