Your a mean one Mr. Grinch

Heard the saying "The best laid plans of mice and men . . . ." ?
It seems that in the last couple of days some Grinches and Scrooges have come forth in my life to do their best to steal my joy this incredibly lovely season.
Today I am working hard not to let that happen. I am praying I misunderstood how something was said and that these people did not mean to stick a pin in my balloon of joy.
My responsibilities to the church, do, of course, increase this time of year and to some people I will never be able to do enough-- there is always something I am not doing or not doing well enough to suit. Then there are all the family preparations and who is coming and who isn't and why and whose nose is out of joint due to this or that . . . . Usually I can handle this but I've been bombarded and am still reeling from shock. So today is my recovery day- my day to pray and get back "my Advent groove" so to speak.
We have special plans today for St. Nicholas Day for homeschooling and I still plan on carrying them out. I refuse to allow someone else's black cloud to begin hovering over me! I am determined that every time I begin to get angry and hurt about what has happened I will stop and pray for those that hurt and angered me.
I give God glory for this day!

Amy, My husband and I often get caught in conflicts where someone(s) in his family tries to basically put a wedge between us and cause conflict. My rule is that I do what is best for my kids and family first, this is my job as a mother, period. Just do what you know is right and don't worry about someone's black cloud...they will get over it. Your job isn't to make everyone happy all the time, your job is to be an advocate for your kids and your family.
