Winter is Coming

Well, we are in the midst of a winter warning here in Southwest Michigan.

It hasn't come yet but it's a big ball of white moving ever closer on the radar screen when I checked the local stations website.
The price of gas gave a good 10 cent jump as people scramble to fill their cars before it hits. And I am sure the grocery store was and probably still is teeming with people frantic to buy milk and eggs and water and bread and such.
So here I am with my kiddos still in the PJs and all cozy warm in my home. The only venturing I did today was to stand on the front step as I got my mail out of the box.
Since I do my shopping every 2 weeks and such- well we've got plenty of milk and eggs and bread and water. No need to rush to the store for anything. Funny about having that frantic need to rush and purchase. I'm more for burrowing in and enjoying my family.
The Little Drummer Boy is on the agenda for family movie tonight and Mr. Steady is putting the finishing touches on his scrumptious Cherry BBQ pork chops even as I type.
Ah, I am enjoying this.
I have pulled a favorite Christmas read off the shelf to enjoy while snuggling with my family tonight. Shepherds Abiding by Jan Karon- it's part of the Mitford series [a town in which I would dearly, dearly love to live].
Oh and I'm planning a mug of Eggnog Chia Latte to go with it.

Sounds very warm and cozy! I love being inside all cozy and warm when it's really cold outside!

I've been hearing about the big storm in the Mid-west and made sure to read your blog's entry for today. I have mentioned that my brother's family lives in Portage. He is an engineer for Stryker in Kalamazoo, so he has a bit of a commute to get to work. He has a 4WD vehicle, but I will say a prayer for him as well. Stay warm! I'm sure the kids will love all the snow. We've recently had a few days of about 15 below zero, so my little one had to stay inside. I invited kids over to play. Their moms were happy to bring them!
