First Day of our New UnitToday was the first day of our Christmas Unit Study. It has been quite enjoyable. The girls think it's so much fun to be digging out the Christmas books for our Readers and Read Alouds. We started the morning as always, with our devotions. Then the usual suspects: Math and spelling. Then things changed. We wrote our quote for the day (John 1:4) on special Christmas notebooking paper. [Handwriting] Our vocab words for the day: Christ, Lord, Find, Wait. Sassafras wrote each word and then dictated a sentence using each word to me, which I wrote down for her. Maiden wrote the word and definition then used it in a sentence. I asked them some questions about Jesus and Christmas which we wrote down in our Christmas journals. We talked about how we celebrate Christmas and then began to write down all the different ways. It was a wonderful special time with lots of reminiscing. I liked it quite a bit! (and so did they!) We watched A Charlie Brown Christmas at lunch time and plan on reading St. Nicholas, The Real Story of the Christmas Legend this evening. Our activity/craft for the day will be sanding the window props they are making for Nana. Sassafras's reader today: Christmas Mice. Maiden's reader today: A Cup of Christmas Tea Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 857 of 1499 } { Next Page } |
