The Day After
Mr. Steady braved the wild world this morning and made a very early trip to Menards to pick himself up some goodies. The kiddos and I all stayed in bed. In fact we were still in bed when he got home couple of hours later!
Then it was a brunch (that's breakfast eaten at 10 am!
) of Autumn Harvest pancakes and sausage. Yum.Such a big late breakfast and we'll be having an early supper with his family- so we're having snacks instead of lunch.
Mr. Steady and Mr. Conductor have already whiled away some time painting the pieces of their wooden model airplane. Such fun to see Mr. Conductor so intent on his work.
Mr. Steady has made window props for my mama for Christmas and the kiddos will need to sand them down before painting (and sandpaper was the one thing Mr. Steady didn't buy at Menards! LOL). We may or may not do that this afternoon.
We did our quick company cleaning this morning (bathrooms, room pick-ups and vacuuming).
Not a lot of leftovers for supper with Mr. Steady's family tonite so he will be frying a turkey for supper (super yummy).
I've got a wonderful book and a sunny spot to waste some time this afternoon.
All in all, It is shaping up to be a wonderful, pleasant, relaxing and contented day.

My Husband (DH)-Mr. Steady
My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.
DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.
DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.
DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
