Black Friday change for Walmart

1:01 PM, 2006-Nov-22 .. Posted in Check This Out .. 2 comments .. Link

Perhaps you have heard the uproar over Wal-mart's plans to donate part of their Black Friday proceeds to a h*mos*xual group? Maybe you recieved the online petition from American Family Association . . . . .
I am guessing that the over 400,000 people who signed the petition to not shop at Wal-mart this Friday has gotten their attention (remember last year's "Happy Holidays" bru-ha-ha and their change of heart over the money lost???).
Anyway, Wal-mart has changed its mind. Wal-mart has issued a statement saying it "will no longer make corporate contributions to support or oppose controversial issues unless they directly relate to their ability to serve their customers."
Yippee! Praise the Lord.
AFA is encouraging Christians to send an email thanking Wal-mart for this change.
I am so thankful for the Lord's provisions in so many ways. He continues to make a way for us.

That is great. Praise the Lord. Maybe I will start shopping there again. Thanks for the info. And have a Happy Thanksgiving!

That is great. I too had signed the petition and it was starting to hurt me that I couldn't go to WalMart for those days. I always do the after Thanksgiving sales but I was going to give it up. You have to take a stand somewhere.
Blessings,
Trixi

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
