Homeschool Adventures

On the homeschooling front:
We actually were able to get school done (for the most part) yesterday inspite of my croaky voice. DD9 gave DD6 her spelling test and was quite helpful.
Unfortunately DS2 ran around like a wild thing and was pretty much uncontrolable and I just didn't have the energy . . . . . I did the unthinkable and allowed him to watch a video- in my bedroom! (Didn't want him disturbing the girls downstairs.) Big mistake.
DS2 got into the balm I keep on my nightstand and proceeded to spread it all over his face and hair- including in his eyes. The eye part is what alerted me to the problem as he came downstairs screaming and crying," in my eyes, Mama help. Eyes." Ugh.
After cleaning him up best I could I trudged upstairs to survey the damage. Incredibily I didn't find too much- smears on my nightstand the jar all goopy and smeared and a good dose of it on my CD/Clock/Radio. A couple of swipes with a wet washcloth and all was well . . . . . or so I thought.
Last nite when I went to climb into bed, upon turning down the sheet- I noted two DS2 sized greasy hand prints on my sheet (just as if he'd grabbed it to tuck himself in) and my pillow fairly reeked of the balm. I then took note of quite a few grease spots on my duvet cover. Ughx2!
So today- I am washing sheets- and using some of my good lavendar dryer sachets to combat that smell!
Other adventures in homeschooling: We didn't get our science projects done- Mama just couldn't do it and Daddy got side tracked after he came home.
The girls did help their Daddy make a lovely soup for supper (as he thought soup would be best for a sicky mama). DD6 is a day behind in our read aloud as my voice didn't hold up last nite.
Today is another modified day- I have the energy but am still lacking the voice. Daddy is going to try and get them all caught up on science experiments tomorrow.
Tonite we make our quarterly trek to Sams Club for bulk purchases. We are going tonite instead of the kids and I going during the day because DH asked us to wait for him as he doesn't want me overdoing it.
