Fire Update
My husband's cousin's name is Mike. Mike is in a drug-induced coma with 3rd degree burns on over 60% of his body. The doctors have said they may keep him in the coma for up to a month to help the healing and keep him from pain. His lungs are clear and that is a huge blessing.The house is a total loss. The family also lost a puppy and many, many registered Ocicats (they had their own cattery in the home). Mike's wife was only able to save one kitten.
This family is blessed with a huge extended family and a large network of friends (especially thru their major involvement in 4H). Many people have come forward to help. God is providing in the midst of it all.
Our major concern is for Mike and his healing. When Mike's neighbor pulled him from the house he quickly asked Mike- "Mike, do you know Jesus?" And Mike answered "I hope, well enough."
It is my prayer that this planted a seed and Mike's thoughts in his coma are full of God and His grace and mercy. I am praying so deeply for Mike's physical and spiritual healing.
Mike and my husband were very close, my DH was best man at his wedding. Mike was attending church etc. but fell away after his marriage and the start of his family. We lost our close contact as Mike's life changed to revolve around his wife and family and 4H and ours, inturn, revolved around our little family. It's one of those relationships that you don't get together really anymore but when you run into each other you talk for almost an hour. And say "We really need to get together sometime . . . . ." My husband is hurting right now- for his beloved cousin, for the family and for the relationship he feels he let slide . . . . . so please keep my husband in your prayers also- that God would give him peace and clarity.
I truly believe God will work wonderful things in the midst of this. He is an amazing God. I am praying for hearts to be turned back to Him during this time.

My Husband (DH)-Mr. Steady
My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.
DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.
DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.
DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
