What I've been up to

We had the most wonderful time on our little mini-vacation and I hope to share a few photos soon. Greenfield Village is such a treasure and it's only about 3 hours away from us. We spent the entire day there on Friday. From opening to closing. We tried our best to see and experience everything but it just isn't possible in one day. Each of us did get in our favorites though- riding in a Model T for my father, Firestone Farm and the Cotswold Cottage and gardens for me, Edison's laboratories for DD9, the trains, the trains, the trains for DS2, the carousel and sweet shop for DD6 and much more. As I type- I don't really know what it was my mom or my husband wanted to see the most- I'm thinking for my husband it was to see the look on our DS2's face when he saw a REAL steam engine and rode it! For my mom- it would probably be Firestone Farm and the glassblowers.
Its really hard to choose only one favorite from the day. We had incredibly beautiful fall weather and probably hiked about 8 or so miles trying to see it all!
We got home Friday nite around bedtime-ish. Saturday was spent doing laundry and odds and ends then going to our church for the annual hayride and harvest party. Sunday was spent at my parent's home eating leftovers and taking care of things as they turned around and left again for a quick  trip Up North to see the colors.
Monday was spent doing grocery shopping and schoolwork and settling in with some great new reads.
And so I come to today, and back to the homestead community here- trying to catch up on my blog reading and updating my own. I have missed "checking" on everyone. So how is your Fall going?

I would love to go visit Greenfield Village. The closest I will probably ever get, is the trip I just took reading your blog :) I haven't left the west coast since I was 4!
