I am a Youth Pastor

I am a youth pastor and I know that side of me is sometimes quiet here as I share life on the homestead . . . . . each week I email my teens a verse or two that I feel compelled by the Lord to share with them. It's our "verse of the week" for lack of a better term.
Today I feel compelled to share with you the contents of today's youth email:

Here's an awesome passage of scripture I'd like to share with you as this week soon draws to a close:

Be on guard. Stand true to what you believe. Be courageous. Be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13(NLT)

Guys- you need to constantly thru this life be on guard. Satan will try to attack you where ever and when ever he chooses. It might be thru a bad grade on a test you studied hard for or thru the harsh words that cut to your heart that come from a trusted friend or thru the forgetfulness of someone you love or just thru some sheer disappointment.
Last week I sent you Proverbs 4:23 with the reminder to "Guard your heart." This week I am reminding you to always be on your guard-  to be courageous and be strong and to always Stand true to what you believe. Satan is looking for your weaknesses in your belief so that he can exploit it. God looks and sees your weaknesses and says to you "where you are weak, I am strong. Rest in me and I will take care of you." God made our weaknesses so that we will always have a constant need to rely on Him and His strength. Be like Job and stand and say "No matter what happens. I'm gonna love and serve my Lord." We can't make our faith strong just by thinking it or saying so- we have to live out our faith in our everyday lives- in front of people who don't care, who hate and who live to bring others to ruin- and also in front of others who don't have a clue and yearn to know, who watch you to see if you'll stand or trip and fall- those who are curious . . . .
So- Be on your GUARD! Be courageous and strong. Wrap yourself daily in The Word. I can't stress to you enough how you need to be reading the Bible daily. When you take a few minutes each day to soak up The Word you are working towards hiding it in your heart and when you do that you are guarding your heart. It takes more courage and strength to fall at Jesus' feet than anything else you may do.
I do, truly mean it, when I say to you that I pray for you daily. God has placed each of you on my heart and I take that part of my "job" much more seriously than any other part. I pray that you will always, continually, have a gnawing hunger in your heart to know more and more of Jesus. I pray for those that may not yet be saved to have no rest or peace until they give into the craving of having Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. I pray for God to guide your day and that He would daily make Himself REAL to you- thru good and thru bad. May you have no doubt who is Lord of All.

My prayer today:
Lord, I don't want these teens to become comfortable or complacent. Lord, prick them in the places they have yet to expose to You and humble them before you. And Lord- please give them the strength they need today for whatever it is they must face. Remind them that they face nothing alone- that no matter what, you are always near, always beside them. No one is a better encourager than You Lord; please Jesus, encourage those that desperately need it. Touch them in a way that defines You. Do not let them wallow in despair or denial but drown them in Your forgiveness and LOVE. More than anything Jesus, I desire for each of these teens to have a real relationship with you Lord. So Lord, guide and lead me and use me to help make that happen for You. Watch over each of them Jesus and protect them from evil. In Jesus name, Amen.

There is no doubt-
You are loved and you are cared for.
YP Amy

That was an awesome message. God is truly using you as a strong leader for your teens. I think that a lot of adults could stand to hear those words too.

Praise God for using you to bring light to the world. Not just to teens, but also to adults.

I've been praying for many on my end as well. I even had the opportunity to minister to both my parents on several occasions. But this past week when they fear they'll lose everything from their rented house to my dads job due to take-over, I believe God is working through me to bring His message of love and the importance of Salvation to them.

I join you in prayer, that the World would hear His call, would have softened hearts to be open to it, and would walk daily in His word and in prayer. In Jesus Mighty name I pray...AMEN

Thanks so much for the excitement you've given me this morning!

Amy,
Thanks so much for all you do here, at home, with your youth and everywhere else.
I'd love to share this with our kids at church. They really need to hear it right now.

Thanks for being a light!
Tracy

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
