Oh So Soon

Oh, I am so excited we are in countdown mode. There are exactly 9 days until our homeschool adventure offically begins.
I am absolutely giddy with excitement. Yep, I am.
So this week will be spent getting all my i's dotted and my t's crossed. I'll spiff up our office/schoolroom, perfect the alignment of our books on our special bookcase reserved for only homeschool stuff. I'll go thru my lesson plans about, probably a half dozen more times or so.
And I'll plan one extra-spectacular kick off.
Since my oldest started kindergarten in the public school system- we've had a very special back to school nite on the evening before the first day. We have a special supper and dessert, the girls open special School Cones filled with wonderful little gifts like chapstick, special erasers, note cards, magnets, markers, decorated pencils and more. We lay out the special first day outfits and pack the backpacks extra carefully . . . . . This year will be a bit different as we won't be packing them off to school. We won't be packing backpacks but we'll still do the rest- the dinner and school cones and that extra special outfit [they're girls- they need the special outfit!].
I am so excited. I wonder if I'll wake up early next Wednesday in anticipation? Or will I stay up too late on Tuesday prepping and prepping and planning and prepping . . . . .
Oh, goodness, did I say I was excited?

I'm so excited for you!! What an adventure you have in store for you! We homeschool year round, so don't have an official "first day", but now I think I want one! lol Just one special book shelf for homeschooling books? That's what I started out with too...and now have 9...really big book cases...overfilled...lol (plus the seasonal books packed away in the basement! ;-)
Glad to hear you are finding peace with the whole "woman" situation.
Love,
Me

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD12- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family.

DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
