Remember Flag Day!It's one week from today! Do you remember all the significant “little” holidays when you are suppose to fly the American Flag? Please, don’t forget June 14th is Flag Day. We are planning on flying our flag on our little homestead that day- won’t you?! Learn more about this patriotic holiday at www.flagday.org This wonderful website is brimming with helpful information. On it’s homepage it lets us know what the status is for flag flying on this date. Today we are to fly our flags at Full Staff. According to the site- we are all, as Americans, to pause and recite the Pledge of Allegiance at "The last change in the Pledge of Allegiance occurred on June 14 (Flag Day), 1954 when President Dwight D. Eisenhower approved adding the words "under God". As he authorized this change he said: 'In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country's most powerful resource in peace and war.'" DD9- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added sweet flavor to our family. DS5- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He's the little man and best helper around! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
