Update on DDIt has been quite the day today! A fast breakfast this morning then off to pick up DH @ work and then to the doctor for a 9:30 am appt. Where we then spent over an hour- finding out that DD6 does have a broken wrist. She has a greenstick fracture- which is the best type of break to have; there wasn't a need to set the bone and she will heal quickly. Unfortunately our peds don't do casts and so we then waited for paperwork and phone calls etc. and were squeezed in at an orthopedic clinic way across town (out in the boonies!). The ortho dr. looked at the xray and had DD move her wrist and confirmed our dr.'s diagnosis in 2 minutes. Then we waited for the nurse to come in and put on the cast. DD picked out HOT PINK which is sooooo fitting for her as pink is her fave color. She was a real trooper and held up well under all the poking and moving etc. We forked over the extra $40 for a waterproof cast which is money well spent in the summer and with an active kiddo! The only hiccup (besides our fears about co$t) is that she can only get it wet in clean water- baths and pools- no lakes. We don't want any muck, gunk or weeds to get under the cast! (P-U!)
