Hi Amy,
I called my oil company two weeks ago and asked them if they knew what the price will be this fall. They usually wait until mid-summer for oil prices to fall and they lock in at a low rate.
I read an article in the newspaper that oil prices will be $4.75 to $5.25 per gallon this winter. My oil company said they are hoping to get $4.25 for its customers.
When we bought this house 5 years ago, I was able to get oil for $1.29/gallon. Food prices are going to get far worse. I don't totally understand the system, but apparently the major grocery store chains lock in prices for meat a year in advance, and those old contracts will be ending, then the major price increases will hit.
The good news is that my blueberry bushes that I bought at WalMart last year all survived and have lots of berries on them. Our grapes from Wmt are doing fantastic, and I planted raspberries this year.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
