More Peaches

Today I did more peaches. Josh and Emily helped towards the end of the 33 quarts. I still have 2 more boxes in the cooler, and about a 1/2 box that needs to sit out a day or so. I think that brings me up to 89 quarts. I need to find more canning jars. I don't like the thought of having to buy them new. I need to check at an aunts house. We got a lot of jars from her a few years ago with food still in them, canned in the 60's and 70's. We just dumped the food out and scrubbed the jars and then ran them through the dishwasher.

School ended sooner today. Josie took the longest time today. She had a math lesson online with her math teacher. Tomorrow she has a language class, and then Thursday she has another math class. This has been a great review for her.

Harold and Josh got the alfalfa cut when Harold came home from work. It may take a week or so to dry. Today we were only in the 70's. Tonight it is suppose to be in the upper 40's. That is unusual for us in August.

Yesterday when that wind came through the valley, it sure made a mess in Boise. A fire burned 10 homes, damaged another 10 homes or more. One person, a professor at BSU, was killed in the fire. I am so thankful we didn't have any hot spots from when Harold burned along the ditch bank on Sunday afternoon. We knew the cold front was coming, so Josh went out yesterday and really hosed things down and made sure there weren't any more hot spots.

Supper tonight was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, milk gravy, spinach, peas, and fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers.
