Hinds Feet on High Places

A Snow Day

This morning started off snowy, with a winter storm forcasted to continue for the entire day. Hubby gets to stay home from work  and I am all for it! He even brought me my hot tea and oatmeal for breakfast this morning. Actually, he and our oldest boy left a bit ago to cut down some trees as we have the opportunity of getting all the cherry firewood we can use for the next couple of years if he wants to clear out some fence-rows for his boss. We certainly are thankful for that and plan to take advantage of it.

People from church have been bringing us meals this week to help out with our new baby, but I called that off for tonight since the route we live on is very twisty and hilly, which isn't so good when it is snowing and sleeting. So I am cooking Dominican beans and rice and marinated chicken for dinner...we'll see how it turns out. I had something similar once as a teenager when we had dinner with a family who were missionaries to Brazil. I never forgot it, it was that good. This recipe looks similar, although they grilled their meat, and well, let's just say I am not set up for that today. Especially since a bear tore the lid off our grill last fall.

My Mom and Dad were supposed to make the 3 1/2 hr. trip to meet the new baby today also, but that had to be postponed till tomorrow. We were disappointed, but tomorrow isn't too far off. He will be a week old already. I guess we better think about hitting the books again come next week...

Hi Annette!
How did the Dominican beans, rice and marinated chicken turn out? If it was good, would you post the recipe please?
I enjoyed the pictures of your little Levi! I can't believe how quickly the time goes by as our little Levi just turned six!
Hope all is well. Keep us posted.

So sorry to hear your Mom & Dad couldn't make it. I know you must have been so disappointed.

I'm looking so forward to more of your postings. They are always so interesting.

Congrats on the new little one!
God Bless
